Why?

Careful dude, thats bordering on racism and could offend any Japanese member's we have here.

I know you meant it in a light hearted manner but just saying...

I will eat my underpants if anyone gets offended at that, it was a joke. I'm Japanese!

I'm not really, but you don't know that!

It is certainly all down to what you're used to.

I have a DS3 on my PS3
I have an XBOX360 controller on my PC.

I get on a lot better with the PS3 pads, than I do with the XBOX360 pad.
I've read in these forums how people consider the XBOX360 pad to be so great, which is why I got one for the PC, as my PS2 USB adaptor didn't work in Vista.

I'm sure there's nothing wrong with the XBOX360 controller, other than I'm not used to it. I started playing R6 the other day, and thought I'd give the controller a bash, so I could play it in 1080p on my telly.
I found it a bit big and clunky, and I had to keep looking down to check where the buttons were. I'm simply used to the Playstation pads, as I used Dualshock 2 on my PS2 and PC for years.

I'm sure if I use the XBOX360 controller more, I'll find it more comfortable, with the exception of the D-Pad, but I honestly wouldn't say one is so much better than the other. The DS3 was an improvement. Added the weight that some people seemed to miss, better build quality and overall feel, and the joysticks deadzone have been fixed.

I'm quite happy to use both controllers, one for PC, one for PS3, but for me, the PS3 pad has the edge, I find it the most comfortable, and can just pick up and play, and know the layout like the back of my hand! ;)

No erganomics problems here, and no small girly hands either.. I'm just used to it! There really is no right or wrong that I can tell here. Inoshishi's comparison to Microsoft mice is valid. I'm also used to the Microsoft Mouse design, and find it far more preferable to the competition, and I also prefer Microsoft Natural Keyboards for typing on. It's what I'm used to.

V1N.

You can get used to poor ergonomics, it doesn't mean you should have to work around it.

Well, I dunno what to say... the original dual shock was OK on the PS1?
The DS2 was OK on the PS2? I don't remember reading so many (or any) complaints about the ergonomics then.. now the same design apparently is poor?

But yes, after using one since the PS1, I guess I am used to it, and it certainly doesn't seem to affect me adversely, I don't suffer any pain, or other problems while using one.

yeah saw some one make it theres instructions online somewhere i'm not that technically adept to even risk toying around with 2 £30 controllers though .

The DS2 design is fine apart from the analogue stick placement. It's not like it's a brand new revelation either, controllers have been doing it for ages, the Gamecube, Xbox, Dreamcast and even the N64 controller had better left stick placement.

It's pretty inexcusable.

but when the ps1/2 controllers came out there werent complaints because there wasnt a superior controller to compare against now there is and its making the flaws in the ps controller more apparent.

Has anyone noticed in the Army recruitment vids that he is using a 360 pad to fly the UAV?

I wonder if they are given a choice of which pad to use?:D

"Sir,i'd like a PS3 pad please."

"Shut your whining boy"

"But sir,in my opinion, the PS3 one is better"

With the power on the PS3,you would have thought the Army would be using PS3s to fight wars with.:p

I've not been discussing personal preference, merely the fact that the 360 controller has far superiour ergonomics. That is not debatable, and is not down to personal preference.

No you don't get it, it has 'far superiour ergonomics' in your opinion, not everyones.

In your opinion, I prefer it there as your hands are symmetrical on the controller, as stated its what youre use to and it would feel wrong if they moved it! Which is probably why Sony's billion-dollar research department have probably decided to leave it.

You don't understand the term ergonomics. It's not "Comfort" it's the study and design of products to fit around the average human body.

I understand what Ergonomics is, but can you please show me where the proof is that the 360 pad is more Ergonomical than the PS3 pad?

The mere fact that most people hate using it is evidence enough, I'm not going to start fighting a battle of proof when it's so blatantly obvious just by looking at user feedback.
