Wide enough for ya?

I would say put all of those monitors away and get just one huge theatre-like screen, where you can look up, too, not just side to side like in that ugly setup.

First of all, yes, I would hate to see how Crysis plays, unless you have that new 4 GB ATI 5970, or maybe even 2 4GB 5970s (currently not yet released as far as I know).

It would make my neck hurt from looking from monitor to monitor. If you have the money to buy that many monitors, you probably could just buy one whopping big screen and not crane your neck from side to side. 3 is a lot of monitors already.

But then again, I think that I saw a 3-monitor Eyefinity setup where the monitors were in a pyramid formation: 1 monitor on top of 2 monitors side by side. If you could make the 5 monitor setup into a pyramid, 3 on the bottom and 2 on top, that would be better IMO. Or 6 monitors. Or 9, in a square formation.

Wouldn't it be better to have the monitors in a portait setup?
I think I saw a 3 monitor setup like that once, looked brilliant, the monitors also had very thin bezels.

Well for all those talking about 1 big screen then you would think different if you tried.

I tested 1 32 inch screen and I found it horrid on the eyes but now I use my 3 x 24 I find it a lot easier to look at.

As for moving head form side to side I think you have completely missed the point.

You dont look from monitor to monitor. You just see whats there. Its like with normal vision.. You see whats in that area with your eyes but you are not constantly moving your head from side to side.

Ok I will give you an example... Playing BC2.. I only ever focus on the center monitor and play the game as if I was only using single monitor but the side monitors are positioned and angled just right that i see what I would if I was actually there with my own eyes.. I was behind a rock and saw movement on my right monitor... I had not turned my head to see it I just saw it in the corner of my eye ( like I would have in real life ).. At that point I turned to notice someone creaping up on me so I turned and killed him.

In this case if I had a singel monitor or even a BIG monitor I would not have seen him... Remember even with just 1 big monitor...be it 32 inch, 42 inch or even 60 inch you would still only get same area on screen that you get form a single screen.. The idea of the 3 for me is I see extra area and fill the field of view that I would get in normal eyesight.

One major annoyance with Eyefinity is that in shooting games, your heads-up-display (HUD) is often grouped in the lower left or lower right. This means that, for instance, in Call of Duty 4, your ammo display is on the right monitor in the lower right part of it, while your radar is on the left monitor in the top left part.

Most Eyefinity demos have featured driving games. I like driving games, but FPS games are all I really play.

AMD are sorting that out, they will be working with game devs to make sure in Eyeinfinity mode the HUD's are on the central screen

Sounds neat. Like watching a movie in widescreen format...your eyes adjust after awhile. Cool.
