Well its not your ususal "no booting" or "3 red lights" but as I was playing Call Of Duty 2 today I was getting some wierd colours coming up on screen.

As I was walking past some of the abandoned cars in the street, some of the grills and bumpers were giving off pinky textures also the trees were getting a bluey shine to them, the buildings and characters were fine though.

I checked the machine and power supply and they arnt even slightly warm, and im guessing that its not sposed to be like this as the first couple of levels never had the problem.
Any1 got any ideas???

Sounds like there is problems with your machines GPU, most likely it has silicon defects as a result of an immature manufacturing process.

In other words RMA time. :(

I thought it had to be something to do with the gpu, but what I found wierd was that its only certain textures that were off and not them all. These machines are dropping like flies now. :(

yeah well it might just be 1 pipeline (out of total of 48) faulty so in that case only certain parts of the rendered scene will show artifacts.

Im still waiting for a box to be delivered so mine can go back, 4 days now

My problems started off as shadows flickering on pgr3 (not much of a prob), then it progressed and I now get artifacts flashing up on the screen in every game I play... send it back its bound to get worse.. I just hope they actually investigate the problem and dont just send back our 360's without checking them with a note saying fixed, like I have heard from others :(

Well hopefully they don't just give you a replacement.. if they do then from what I've heard, you will lose all your Xbox Live market place downloads... Each download is registered to your profile and the xbox itself (so to play any of the games on another xbox, you'd need to be connected to Xbox Live, if you're not connected then you wont be able to play the full version offline)

That doesnt sound very promising, I bought mine form a Game store in town so will try the swap route before I phone up Microsoft.
And I just recieved Call of Duty 2 todayas well, I hope im not without a 360 for too long "fingers crossed".

I think you get 14 days to exchange at game, I bought from game but on release day so mines well out of their return policy :( even so if you return to game they may not have another system to exchange it with as they are still hard to come by. I think microsoft gives a 10 day turnaround, that means they got 6 days to get my 360 back to me, just as soon as someone actually picks up this knackered one

Good luck, let us know how you get on. :)

Will do mate, I'll be phoning up Game shortly.

Edit: just phoned up Game and they said that there isnt going to be any more in for 2 weeks and there is apparently 30 people on the list.
Surely though as having already paid I should get priority over people who are on pre-order.

I bought it on the 9th of january, do you think I would be able to take it back as a refund and get it elsewhere, My brother who works at a high street store should be able to sort me one out.

Luckily I bought a memory card so I get to keep my save data, which is a good job as I nearly got all plats on PGR3, I decided im going to avoid the Microsoft route and get a refund from Game.
It shouldnt be too long to find another one as there seem to be more places with them coming in stock.

Update:

So I just phoned up Game again and asked if they had any 360's in today, the answer was no, so I said that I was going to bring mine down for a refund, can you guess what there answer was.

"im sorry sir, we dont give refunds on consoles, its store policy" so I kindly asked to speak to the manager but he wasnt there, I have to phoneback in a hour.

I'll be kindly asking him the same thing and see if hes any better trained, if you cant offer an exchange you have to offer a refund, does he thing that he can get away with selling me a dodgy machine for £200+, what made me laugh was the "store policy", why dont I contact trading standards and see what there policy is :)

With training like this you could expect one of there staff to be premoted to a posistion at the purple shirt brigade. :)
