Huge wikileaks revelations expected to start tonight of 3 million sensitive and embarrasing political documents. Have been seeing sparse news article about due I imagine due to the d-notice issued to news editors regarding interest of national security etc

Be interesting to see if these leaks get published this time round as appears wikileaks currently under ddos attack.....someone really doesn't want the latest leak to go ahead with many world leaders being briefed in advance.

I don't know what to fully make of Julian Assange but can imagine the pressure he is under right now from world powers not to publish said docs. He must have some big balls!

Shocking stuff so far, not.

So the Saudi's dont like Iran?
So the Americans spy on people?
So China is getting fed up with North Korea

Gosh who'd have thought it?

I find wikileaks totally abhorrent.

They win Amnesty International support and yet all they do is cause trouble. I'm all for transparancy but only where appropriate - some things are better left unseen.

He is a rapist (allegedly) who seems to think it's ok to put others lives at risk simply to forward his own infamy.

That's utter BS, all things should be open to the people as the governments are there to represent our views and not to treat us as kids
I think what Wikileaks are doing is great, they are doing what our media fails to do ... hold the governments to account by giving the people unbias information straight from the horses mouth.

That's an oxymoron :p

It does worry me.

Diplomacy is a subtle art, diplomats work to keep countries happy with each other, allowing them to all get enough of what they want to keep war at bay.

Something like this can just blow all that careful work out of the water. Fingers crossed it doesn't trigger anything nasty...

You are so nieve. If all information was transparent all governments would do is keep opinion to themselves.

He's an idiot. Stuff needs to be kept secret either as the conrent isn't suitable abd would cause international relation problens as they wgere never intended for public release, or because of securitu issues.
Nothing thay had been speculated so far is of any interest and certainly not surprisng.

Can you not understand this rypt. Other documents could have strategic information about bases, troops, weapons. Yet you want everything open.

Good on wikileaks, it's up to organisations like this to tell us what's really going on in the world is because the mainstream media won't.

As the government keep telling us - if you've got nothing to hide, you've got nothing to fear.

Bring it on.

The Saudi's apparently urged the US to attack Iran to stop its nuclear programme.

Wikileaks have always been prepared to work with US authorities and to censor certain documents, unfortunately at every step the US government refuses to work with them and instead goes into the "they are secret documents" spiel.
Wikileaks do tend to remove as much info as they can that will endanger troops.

Since you support government secrets so much, tell me this... why are so many WW2 documents still secret? What current "operations" do they endanger?

I have no problem with secret documents, but that should only apply to documents which actually need to be secret. A document that details the fact that China is getting annoyed with NK has no reason to be secret.

How's that shocking, at one point there wad lots of talks about strategical attacks.
