Wildstar New MMO (NCSoft and Carbine Studios)

If they had loads of servers, it would just mean in 3/4 weeks time they are having to merge servers due to lots of them being really quiet. They made a mistake with only launched with 1 PvP server, but I'd say the amount they have now is about right. Queues are inevitable at an MMO launch.

Yeah now Rav has a 2+ hour wait... How can these games companies not look at their subs and plan accordingly

The figures are quite misleading, I logged into Ravenous and was greeted with 1hr40m wait but it actually took me just over 10mins to be ingame playing.

** If anyone want's adding to the circle pm me now 'Saurazgul' and I'll invite you to the unofficial OcUK haven for Exile's :p **

It's NCSoft running the servers they have plenty spare servers they could open up at any time... The reason they are keeping queues is to try to avoid empty servers in the future. Bare with it, over the next few days things will settle down.

I much prefer this approach then to open up 10servers and have 7-8 empty servers in a month.

Am I the only person who finds this game really really boring?

I know it's the beginning but when I first bought WoW and D3 I was hooked from the intro and starting quests, I gamed for hours, reached L17 on WoW in my first session (and that was with Vanilla XP). Guildwars 2 wasn't as good but still interesting. This game the starting quests and story seem to have nothing to pull you in, it feels like doing dailies on WoW, I am playing a Dom human as that's the only race I could get past L2 (currently L6) as the robots are silly, the demons look silly in space clothing and the Nazi gerbils are stupid.

Also does anyone else think they dropped the ball on the games rating? I don't mind it being extra violent but a parent buying a game that supposedly contains mild "fantasy violence" would probably be horrified when they saw their child load up the game and immediately set about torturing civilians for information then proceeding to gas a room full of people then electrocute another room full of people lol.

You probably find it boring because you've seen it all before. WoW was good because for the first time we had a slick MMO that borrowed the best bits from all the others around at the time and got it just right.

I will say that once you get outside and beyond level 10 this game becomes so much more than the starting areas suggest.

Great, the recent fixes mean I have to wait in the ques like everyone else! In all honestly, I didn't realise It was an exploit (my game used to get stuck on "connecting to realm" so I had to alt F4 then rejoin, and sometimes that would get me into the game without any ques), just assumed the ques were bugged or something, but knowing now that my actual que time is 24 hours, it's a bit of a joke. God help them when everyone else joins after the "early" access.

New mount :D

From the boomboxes?

So far had a Raidin hat and legs out of mine. Legs are in the bank and too lazy to go get them but here's the hat :

FYI the class AMPS at the Farside vendor are bugged and you can buy them without meeting the rep requirement. Just got there and they are open to buy.

Means you can take the ship there from Ilium at lvl 14 buy them then go back to the normal zones :p

Some other stuff at the vendor is bugged too like lvl 32 shoulders, decor items etc.

L7 now and I am starting to notice that the "double tap # to dodge out of the way" stuff is becoming quite mandatory for melee >.>

Is this really important at high level too? and if so can ranged avoid using it? It's a really lame mechanic /sigh.

You will need to use it a lot but ideally when a mob casts a telegraph skill use an interrupt (ie knockdown, stun, grapple etc) and it's healthbar will turn purple and you do increased damage while it is.

Really hope they don't add too many servers. Once the initial hype is over and the first 30 days the population will take a bit of a hit I'm guessing, so will be a bit dead then in some places.

Has that happened on any other mmo headstart, non buyers of the game, people who had a beta code, getting into the headstart?

Get used to it. It's not only important at high level, but mandatory. It's an integral part of the combat, even for ranged classes. Fail to dodge in a dungeon or raid and you'll be dead.
