Wildstar New MMO (NCSoft and Carbine Studios)

I like the idea of a limited skill set; I much prefer gw2 skills compared to wow where there is a confusing amount of skills. Too many can be very off putting. It seems like a nice balance as with gw2 there were probably too few whereas WildStar allows you to mix and match but only use a limited amount at a time. It also tends to help with balance too.

As for p2p; I really don't mind at all. I'd rather have the full experience for a fixed fee than constantly feeling like I could be more efficient by spending some money. Especially if it becomes one of those games that I play solely for a year like wow; £8.99 of whatever is a relative bargain.

I have played Wow for years doing p2p and never had a problem, there is always content with updates. a lot of f2p like said before if you dont pay to get some of the benefits then you are left feeling your missing out.

So far what I have read there are plenty of reasons to p2p. I really like the housing side of things. Is there been any dvelopment on areans yet?

Tbh i like p2p in any game that i like the look of as you get the full experience. I have subbed for wow on and off over the years and i like the idea of the choice to sub or not too depending on how i am feeling. (or money wise)

Im not a fan of f2p at all in any game really but thts just how i feel about them. some games it works such as moba's but not for mmo's. Say this game started as p2p then went to f2p with the option of a membership like DCUO, i think that would be a good move. But then they could totally distory the game just like SWTOR didm, and i really liked that game. (not good enough to carry on tho)

Gw2 i did like the idea of depending on the wepon gave you different ablities but it was limited but i just cudnt get away with that game.

I'm thoroughly impressed by the crafting already just by reading about it!

I'm going to be a rich fisherman and miner!

Miner and survivalist while levelling up I think, stockpile mats then decide on a craft later. Or even sell to get a decent starter chunk of cash.

Crafting does sound good, variant crafts sound interesting but need more info to decide.

I did think spellslinger was gonna be medium armor tho :(

P2P is only a positive in my eyes

I have never been rich in MMO's so I think this one I am going to try and get the most out of it...and like you said start on a craft later on.

Few questions for any beta testers (or those in the know) we have on here;

- are they sending invites in waves on set dates?
- is there anything similar to gw2 world events in this?
- what is character progression like? Multiple talent trees like wow? Straight up levelling like gw2 or something in between?

Ta

I've never really been into crafting, but after watching a few videos of it in Wildstar, I am actually looking forward to it lol.

Not in the beta but this is what I've seen/read about that -

1. Beta invites are sent out every Monday I believe in batches. - Was confirmed on their Twitter
2. There are dynamic events that occur around the map called challenges that you can participate in to earn exp/cash/loot/rep etc. - http://www.wildstarfans.net/2013/12/wildstar-questing-familiar-yet-fun.html
3. They have a kind of a talent tree called AMPs which you invest points into which increase abilities power and specialise into certain roles -

Cheers bud. Yet more ticks in the like box!

Actually one nasty thing, they've separated pvp stats from base stats meaning 2 sets of gear. By no means a desk breaker but that was always an irritation of mine in wow.

I actually prefer the 2 different sets of gear/stats for PVP too as it gives people who want to excel at the PVP route an avenue to fight competitively at high levels, rather than getting owned by people with access to the highest 20/40man raid tiers.

Remember how broken rogues were in Burning Crusade PVP when they had the Twin Glaives of Azzinoth and full pve gear (or 6/8 of the set I think it was)? :)
