Will AMD ever fix the corrupt mouse cursor issue that has been around for years

Count me in as another long time amd gpu owner that has never seen or heard of that issue...

No common piece of software that you've always used or anything like that?

I used to get this when alt and tabbing out of full screen games, used to get stuck like that for a bit but eventually go back.

Crossfire 7950s, used to happen on my 6850 too.

Ive only ever had it the once (with my 290X), and ive been on AMD for years and years now, i just restarted and all was well, never seen it since.

As per the title really.

Every single day my mouse cursor goes corrupt at some point and the only way to fix it is to restart the computer. I have just about had enough and am very tempted just to sell my 290X and buy a 970 for an easy life.

Moving the pointer to the top-right corner fixes it.

It's been present since the HD5000 series when it was initially much worse. Other than running older games especially Age of Empires 3 (Genie 2 engine) which seems to have issues on AMD cards it doesn't occur consistently.

It seems to be quite random but it is definitely a problem with AMD video cards. I had a 970 installed in this system before the 290X (I used DDU to remove the Nvidia drivers). There have been no other hardware or software changes apart from games.

The top corner fix doesn't work for me.

I've never had this and I've had a few AMD cards over the years including a crossfire set up.

I have had this happen as well when running an ATi / AMD card, though thankfully it has been a rare occurrence. I can't recall whether it has happened or not when using an nVidia card.

I have had this problem before (single 7950 - had a dual setup too) - it as intermittent, but havnt had any issues in quite a while (thankfully)

I run an office with around 20 people using the AMD 6450 flex cards, most are running triple screens for desktop use. We get this issue occasionally. Doesn't seem to be a pattern, very random.

I've had that happen before, probably back when i had 7970s.
Didn't even know it was a fault (with AMD, thought it was something else) just lived with it till i restarted computer or whatever :p

Same, 7970's, didn't happen often but presumed it was something else on my system when it did. Had never really thought of linking it with the gpu tbh.

I'm another statistic in the "never happened to me" column.

My history:
2900Pro, 3870, 4870, 4870CF, 5870, 5870CF, 7970, 7970CF, 290CF
My SFF PC has run a 7850, now a 285, son runs a 6850, 5 work PCs and 4 LAN Gaming PCs run 5770s.

I got this just the other day on my 7950 running Win10 preview. Figured it was a Win10 thing.

Thinking back I may have got something like this before, but it's long enough ago that I can't actually remember.

Of course, all these people saying they've had it isn't helping anything. Seems like it's documented enough on the web to suggest it's a common-ish thing.

Also, the people saying they haven't had it isn't helping either. If it's user error rather than an AMD related issue surely you'd expect to see a similar number of Nvidia owners complaining of it? Or is it an attempt to convince people it's not actually happening?

Ahh ive had this bug a few times but in Dota 2 when i used to roll with a 6970 but not seen it since. Probably a year and half ago now. Was quite annoying as it was really hard to see where my cursor was or aim or anything. Had to restart the game to fix but i was sure it was a game bug than driver.
