Will AMD ever fix the corrupt mouse cursor issue that has been around for years

As per the title really.

Every single day my mouse cursor goes corrupt at some point and the only way to fix it is to restart the computer. I have just about had enough and am very tempted just to sell my 290X and buy a 970 for an easy life.

Had this problem on my 5870, 7950 and 290X.

Simple solution is to move the cursor left and right quickly, after 2-3 seconds of this it's restored to normal.

Funny thing is I can go for months without having this issue, then I can randomly get it twice in one day, strange bug, no wonder it's hard to fix.

It happened for me when i was running crossfired 7950 from sapphire. Less so when pulling on of the gpus out of the machine. Sold the pc and of the 7950s to a friend who has never seen it happen :P..

I've had 9 different AMD GPU's (multiples of some of them) and I've never come across this. It strikes me this is more likely an issue with some combination of drivers and/or hardware. Are there any common factors with those who experience this?

It really isn't all that helpful for people to come on here saying "this has never happened to me". To those people I say lucky you. This is a widely documented problem that has been around for years that AMD have never managed to fix.

I know AMD have a rep here. Why no comment?

You should have put it in the official driver thread, that's what it there for.
"this has never happened to me" is to help you understand that its not happening to everyone any, the less people who get it and the rare occurrence for most people who do means users dont put it in the support form so it becomes a low priority.

I disagree, it is useful to know how common this problem is. There are plenty of people who use multi monitors and AMD cards who do not have this issue.

It might have been useful to know how common this problem was if it was a new problem.

This problem has been around for years and it has been well established that it affects many AMD users.

I am not looking for an argument here. I would just like an AMD rep to at least acknowledge the problem, let us know if there is any chance of a fix and give us some sort of timeline.

I realise what I am asking is probably impossible for AMD to achieve considering no effort has gone into resolving it thus far. They can't even get drivers out for new games.

I seem to have come to the conclusion that this whole thread was probably a waste of time and just an avenue to vent my frustration at AMD. Great hardware, Poor Software.

Nvidia here I come.

This only happened to me on multi monitors, with my 7950, 6850 and 5770. However, after a driver about about more than a year ago I haven't really seen the problem since. Even then, it rarely occured, and a quick flick between the two screens fixed it.
