Not even Neverwinter Knights, Dragon Age or Mass Effect even comes close. I have BG 1&2 on 100 CDs JK and would prefer it on steam for less hassele. Unfortunately it's not avalable. >:-(

Originally they were going to enable transfer from BG2 to NWN too, but it sadly got dropped before release.

I love BG but tbh I think we have moved on now, I personally think DAO is a better game.

I got bored of DA:O. I think their attempt to make it non-linear was just letting you choose the order in which you did 4 or 5 main (linear) quests. Unfortunately this meant there couldn't be one main epic story arc. Skyrim does open-world properly, BG did epic story line better. I also felt the DA:O designers spent so much time building a new fantasy setting / mythology that the story itself was very 'meh'.

Temple of elemental evil
Arcanum
Planscape Torment
Icewind Dale
DA:O
Drakensang
NWN 1 and 2

All come to mind when BG is mentioned, all turn based.

Pleantly of game slike The Witcher and Nox, which are a bit more hack n slash, but still fun.

TOEE and Drakensang are turn-based, Arcanum gives you a selection and the rest are real time with pause. Fallout 1 and 2 are also turn-based, BG is real time with pause.

Whats the difference between real time with pause

and turn based ? :)

as i remember BG had a ton of options (pause after x action) to effectively make it a turn based game....
