Will I die?

Of course you won't, the shock isn't even string enough for you to pull away. It's like bad puns and needles. Had a dodgy USB port that always shocked me if I plugged something in.

Nasty pins and needles? Don't want :(

Guess it'll be staying plugged in FOREVER.

No, but you will be digitized and saved into a world of bits and bytes, where you will be hunted down by antiviral Programs and your only hope of survival is to locate and disable the Master Control Program......

:D Watched this for the first time the other day!

well you could switch the laptop off and remove the battery but then you might not die and i really want you to die!

Just turn it off.
And
A) only whilst being shocked
B) you have to make a circuit which is easy to avoid, hold it on the side or just wrap a sock, tissue or anything else round.

Really how do some people get through a normall day.

Absolutely nothing will happen. My 16GB USB stick I use in my car glovebox for music is just a bare PCB with a USB jack attached.

It's amazing the amount of people here who think the voltage will kill you when in fact it's the current. Just so you know a static shock from a carpet can be a couple of thousand volts, it just has very little in the way of current.

I think it's anything above .1A can be lethal.

Dunks said it best:
Volts jolt, amps kill!

Used to have a wireless USB network thingy before, cover came off as well. I used and touched it regularly with no problems at all.

Just pull it out. Nothing will happen.

But just for arguments sake, pull it out with your mouth/teeth.

(For the above - please setup a webcam so we can all see? )
