Will I notice the difference upgrading from Diamond 9.1s in my home theatre?

What do you think the difference with the bigger 3 way center? That should have been a massive upgrade over the 2 way MTM
I have only used them for an hour, they sound a lot better, audio is a lot fuller. I have had to exchange the 4.4s, and also added the 4.2s since. I will recalibrate when the sub arrives and hoping to notice a huge difference accross the system!

So, the SVS PB1000 Pro arrived today, It took a little while to get configured, I read through the relevant parts of the AVS Subwoofer setup guide, aiming for a Auddysey trim level of -11.5, I ended up with -10.5, of which I boosted to -5.5. Speakers set to small, crossover 80hz, LFE Only, 120hz. I don't think I missed anything. Anyhow, this subwoofer sounds INSANE. This is the best upgrade I have done to my HT in a long time, just wow, it sounds incredible and you can feel the vibrations. I now understand what people were getting at when saying I was missing the LFE! Super happy, here is a picture of it in the theatre. The system as a whole sounds great, but the sub has stolen the show for me.

That does look like quite the sub. Shame the earlier pictures are down, so new people can;t see your setup. But sounds like the amp is the next required upgrade, ha ha.

Yeah, something like 6700. The new 800 range price has increased considerably, something like +£1000? That has four sub out and Dirac option, but that's another £400 or so license?

Also could get another PB1000 Pro, to flatten out response.

Also a good programmable universal remote, so it all integrates everything.

Yeah, I went with an amp that has pre-outs. So I have a 3400 in the living room and a 3600 in the cinema room. The idea being that I can use that as a pre-amp, and get some poweramps instead. I currently have a Rotel 5x100w poweramp in the cinema, and it does work well, but I think I do need more power. But to be honest, I probably only need the extra grunt for the B&W 683's that do the front stereo pair.

The thinking is that once I have the power amps I want, then I only need to upgrade the processor going forward to keep up with the tech, as the amps will already be on spec.

Have you found out if the wharfedale surround speakers are bipole or dipole?
Nope, people are saying that those surround speakers are no good for atmos as you want direct sound not diffused.

I'm tempted to put some 4.2s at the back too. The other part of me thinks just put some low profile wall mountable speakwrs. Not sure which speakers I would go for though

If you have chance of testing regular speakers, bipole/tripole in a atmos system it's worth it. I'm aware of the Dolby spec but it's not a law punishable by death, if the room or personal preference is diffused even in a atmos system, it's yours to do what you wish.

Yeah that's fair enough, valid points. Are there any reccomendations you have outside of the 4s and 4.2? The 4s look nice for sure but £1000 a pair lol..... any nice wall mount units that would be a good match for my existing system?

Stick with the Evo range, obvious ones are the smallest two way standmount for a regular speaker. If you mix and match then looking at other brands so you might have tonal mismatch

It is a problem with certain brands, they don't make every type of speaker design, ie for the Evo they lack on wall, and downward firing sloped atmos specific speakers.

I'm using several brands of speakers for my system, as the main brand didn't produce on wall direct firing speakers and they were out before atmos. Large standmount wouldn't work for front wide/sides due to lack of space in that area.
