Will you be ditching your 980 TI\TX for Pascal?

yes and i explained the difference, for the 1080 thing, he puts a context, he doesnt have to put it in context for you, he puts a slide behind him and say what he wants it's for you to link his words to the slide, this is legal PR deceit.
but on the 1070, there was no context no slide nothing for you to link to his words to come up with a different conclusion, it was a simple and direct with no wiggle room 1070 faster than TitanX, if it's not true, nvidia is liable for false advertisment, therefor it has to be true.

It only needs to be faster in one thing for the statment to be true.
IMO it will be in VR with the new optimisations not general everyday gaming but time wil ltell

If the 1070 is faster than a titan X in VR (where half the screen is at lower resolution using their new technology), or something similar, then what he said is not a lie and it is legal for him to say that. It could be faster than a titan x, nobody has seen the reviews yet, but I do not think it will be.

thats something to expect from 2 different vendors, having 2 different approch to driver optimisation, this case it's only nvidiayou dont often see 970 trading blows with 980, they will keep titanx under the 1070 dont worry.
personally i dont think this shift in game optimisation during last few months to be random, or just AMD getting a lot better than Nvidia, but rather nvidia laying the ground for their next line to shine better when compared to 980Ti/X, i actualy i wouldn't be surprised if FuryX beats titanX across the board during the reviews.

I'm keeping hold of my 980 Ti at least until some reviews of the 1080Ti are release.

Kinda feel changing from a 980 Ti to a 1080 would be a side grade but maybe the reviews will prove me wrong!

YOU CAN HAVE MY 980TI.... if the 1080 turns out to be twice the speed of a titan X in normal games at 3440x1440.

THINK ABOUT WHAT HE IS SAYING....

TWICE THE POWER OF TITAN X WITH 3 TIMES THE ENERGY EFFICIENCY.

So the 1080 is going to run GTA V maxed out 3440x1440 at 100fps while using 100 watts?????????

Who want's a 980ti now? Hot, power hungry and loud compared to the 10x0 range :p

Anyone who wants to have a top quality gaming experience.

The GTX 980 Ti is exactly the same card as it was last week and still better than anything AMD have got.

The other thing that springs to mind is do you take pleasure in winding people up about a drop in the value of their cards ?

I would also like to point out that I have never had the slightest intension of selling any of my Maxwell cards since the day I purchased them so your words are wasted on me, I enjoy collecting graphics cards.

Some people do seem to get some sad enjoyment from it, Maybe just jealous?

I'm in the same boat i don't sell graphics cards i just give them to my family but i wont be doing that for small pascal it will be for big pascal if anything.

Which IF the figures for small pascal are true (cant really trust nvidia about that) then big pascal is gonna be a massive increase in performance.

I'd find it hard to sell my card is it was a limited production and looks so good :D

Not sure people are getting enjoyment from it. I have found it funny over the last few days. I mean not long ago reading people moaning about being stuck on old tech (28nm) and although not the same people, some owners of the current gen are now talking up the value of their cards, ignoring certain points.

I buy technology, enjoy it, then just let the market decide what it's worth when I come to sell usually by sticking the items on the auction site, and then moving on. If I get a better price, cool, if not, so be it, I've had my enjoyment from it :D

Kaapstead is completely right. The current top end cards are still good cards just soon to be lower-mid range when considering both performance AND features

Exactly. So why are you saying that the 1070 definitely won't be quicker than a 980ti when all you have to go by is your hunch?

This is exactly what I mean when you speak about things you know nothing about. I honestly wonder if you even think about what you say or whether you just blurt out the first thing that pops in to your head, because that's certainly how you come across.

Because the 1080 is only 25% quicker than a TX...

You need to look through the hype and see what NV are doing here...

I have a good selection of graphics cards and cpu's. To be honest they are old versions, I think my Voodoo card is worth more now than it was when it first appeared lol :D
