Will you be ditching your 980 TI\TX for Pascal?

Interesting a 970 on the MM started on Thursday @£200 - which until the announcement was a damn good price - yet it's already down to £170 due to potential buyers hanging fire for Pascal, this is before launch, prices of 9xx cards are only going one way now and apparently rather quickly.

Sad for owners I'm sure, good for "vultures" like me who wait for such times.

But 170 is for a card costing 220

What would you expect to pay for a 970 now ?

Thing is, if he had sold it a few weeks ago, we would have got some smug post about how great he was at selling it for £400+, but because he's still got his and going to lose loads by jumping onto 'new tech', he can't hack the fact he's for once not sold at the right time.

Dude I was offered 475 couple of weeks back..I chose to keep it...

Looks like 1080 is 25% faster than 980ti...

I'm not that excited TBH...it's not a money thing ...I'm loaded...

Don't pay any attention to him. He seems to be taking offence at anyone who thinks the 980Ti is now worth a lot less with the 1070 incoming.

He is probably very upset at seeing his card devalue so quickly, so I can kind of understand. Poor thing :p

I've just spent 1600 quid on 2x dell u2715h monitors and a predator x34

I'm not bothered about losing money on gfx cards...:p

I won't be selling my 980 ti for 200 I'll Just give it to my sisters kid...I'm sure I can buy 2x 1080s next month if I want...

I'm going by my experience in MM...

I've been resisting £200 970's until now and knowing the bath 980's will soon be taking I'm no longer even slightly interested in that one I mentioned even though it's not far from half its retail price!

I'm no longer even remotely interested in 970's any more as for the £200 I was thinking of spending I know I can soon do a lot lot better.

That didn't answer my question.

What you seem to be struggling to grasp little one is that none of that matters :p

Say the 1070 is same, or close to the performance 980Ti to fit your narrative. We already know it has more vram (very important, just ask kaaps), we know it will consume less electricity and run cool and quieter. We also know it will cost around £300.

Now, using all that information, please explain why anyone in their right mid will pay £300 or more which is what you feel the 980Ti worth for a second hand card, when they can buy a BRAND NEW card which is superior for cheaper?

To me second hand means the value drops quite a bit. Therefore I and many others have arrived at the conclusion of £200-250 being the value of a SECOND HAND 980Ti.

Hope you get it now :D

For starters if you think the 1070 will be 300 on release you're clearly deluded...

Fact is many people will be keeping their 980ti and looking for another for sli...

I'll post back after the 1080 release and we will not be seeing 980 ti go for 200 in MM

Get it?

Good :D

Just looked you can't even get into MM :p

Anybody who hasn't going SLI yet with their 980Ti is a guy who wants to get SLI as cheap as possible.

And with the current news about the new cards from Nvidia, these guys will have no problem waiting another month or two until the bottom falls out of 980Ti prices.

I think you are deluded if you think the 980Ti's will stay above £300.

They won't drop sub 200 like you said..

Next? like a child? as if you won something, or even proved anything with this?

Do you think the prices are just going to drop overnight? Are you really that clueless?

You seem to think 980ti will be worthless in the coming weeks...

I think it's you that is clueless :p

Next :D

Worth less than you think , not worth **** all!

I must say easy you surprise me here, I usually see you posting in motors where I view you as one of the better ones to follow, in this you come across like some blinded fanboy which I didn't expect from you of all people!

Just pullin your pud...:p

Bit of fun...

why should people be gullible when that guy in the nvidia presentation is directly saying that a 1080 is twice the gpu as a Titan x

this is a presentation shown to the world, i dont think they are lying when thousands of engineers and scientist made this card and spending millions over 3 years of development....

Cause it's twice the performance in VR not games...

https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/4i8cwk/nvidia_1080_is_not_twice_the_performance_of_titan/

Even you have been blinded by the hype...

Exactly. So why are you saying that the 1070 definitely won't be quicker than a 980ti when all you have to go by is your hunch?

This is exactly what I mean when you speak about things you know nothing about. I honestly wonder if you even think about what you say or whether you just blurt out the first thing that pops in to your head, because that's certainly how you come across.

Because the 1080 is only 25% quicker than a TX...

You need to look through the hype and see what NV are doing here...
