Will you be ditching your 980 TI\TX for Pascal?

I've been resisting £200 970's until now and knowing the bath 980's will soon be taking I'm no longer even slightly interested in that one I mentioned even though it's not far from half its retail price!

I'm no longer even remotely interested in 970's any more as for the £200 I was thinking of spending I know I can soon do a lot lot better.

That didn't answer my question.

Guys wait for the actual "performance" before talking this JUNK!!

Anyone who actually knows is bound by NDA. Has been all the time these threads of clap trap are going.

Anyone of you may be far from correct!!

What you seem to be struggling to grasp little one is that none of that matters :p

Say the 1070 is same, or close to the performance 980Ti to fit your narrative. We already know it has more vram (very important, just ask kaaps), we know it will consume less electricity and run cool and quieter. We also know it will cost around £300.

Now, using all that information, please explain why anyone in their right mid will pay £300 or more which is what you feel the 980Ti worth for a second hand card, when they can buy a BRAND NEW card which is superior for cheaper?

To me second hand means the value drops quite a bit. Therefore I and many others have arrived at the conclusion of £200-250 being the value of a SECOND HAND 980Ti.

Hope you get it now :D

For starters if you think the 1070 will be 300 on release you're clearly deluded...

Fact is many people will be keeping their 980ti and looking for another for sli...

I'll post back after the 1080 release and we will not be seeing 980 ti go for 200 in MM

Get it?

Good :D

Just looked you can't even get into MM :p

I don't see how lower offers are derisory when we know in a few weeks faster cheaper cards are coming. It's a bit dodgy to try and palm off the older tech at a high price. should have tried to palm it off before the reveal.

I have to agree with you there Boom, people had a chance to sell in the last couple of weeks. If the 1070 is £350, the older cards like the 980Ti are worth less.

Straw man again.

Anyway, I agree with 8 pack, pointless debating with you. Let's wait for the performance figures :D

Interesting - a 970 on the MM started on Thursday @£200 - which until the announcement was a damn good price - yet it's already down to £170 due to potential buyers hanging fire for Pascal, this is before launch, prices of 9xx cards are only going one way now and apparently rather quickly.

Sad for owners I'm sure, good for "vultures" like me who wait for such times.
970's in my opinion have been overpriced for a while now. I bought one off Gregster from the MM last year April for less than they are going now and it was virtually new. By right they should be ~£150 mark but due to market forces and probably how good they are the price was still floating around the £200 mark. Not for much longer; I look forward to the 1070 bringing balance to the force.

What about sli ?

Another BS post...:p

Next...

Anybody who hasn't going SLI yet with their 980Ti is a guy who wants to get SLI as cheap as possible.

And with the current news about the new cards from Nvidia, these guys will have no problem waiting another month or two until the bottom falls out of 980Ti prices.

I think you are deluded if you think the 980Ti's will stay above £300.

They won't drop sub 200 like you said..

That didn't answer my question.

I think my answer said it, I was resisting £200 970's as I felt - as others do - they are overpriced (never mind 980's!) Now I won't even entertain one as my rough £200 budget is aimed at a 980ti in a few months (I won't pay more as what I have now runs what I play just fine)

I run @ 5760x1080 so my 580's vram is an issue for me but they still cope with what I play - at that resolution - admirably tbh, I'm not your average gamer by any stretch and am happy to sit back and bide my time, most I grant you are not, I'll have my 980ti at £200 or maybe two 970's for the same price, I'm only willing to pay that and will if necessary wait until that's the price point, but I think that point could well be Pascal as it seems to be the dawn of the next gen.

They won't drop sub 200 like you said..
Sub no, I doubt it, but I don't think my £200 budget is as delusional as you do.

Indeed, lets see what the benchmarks are first.
