William's Training Log (N00B Log)

Should I only be eating my egg whites? So starting from next week I will be eating some fruit for breakfast as I have no time to prepare something then tuna mayo pasta at break, probably chicken, bacon, sweetcorn pasta mayo for lunch then whatever I have for dinner that night and then I will cook my own eggs with two slices of buttered toast but should I only eat the egg whites? and then after that I have a bowl of cereal with green milk before bed :D Also what is the best way to eat cook them because I LOVE fried eggs but I've just been doing scrambled eggs as I guessed that would be a lot more healthy because I don't use oil or are fried eggs fine?

If that is a load of ******** and you could tell me something way better to be eating then I will take any suggestions thanks :D

3 whole eggs in the pan with a huge knob of butter. Heat slowly constantly stirring until they go JUST hard enough. On 2 slices of lightly toasted brown bread loaded with this sauce.

Hnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng.

Will that just make scrambled egg but I will have to try it sounds good if Im honest and I love Hot Sauce :D and is the rest of like the meals I'm planning on having look alright to you guys?

Yeah but its a far superior way to make scrambled eggs as they are smooth as silk. Dumping them straight in a hot pan stresses out the eggs and makes them taste worse (foodbroscience)

William,

*provided that you don't cook the **** out of them

Ahh I see thanks and today I think I cooked too much :(

And do I REALLY have to read this 200 page report for the Stronglifts 5X5??

Stronglifts will easily take up more than 45 minutes, don't you worry about that. While it's still 'easy' at the beginning chuck in some assistance if you wish (dips and chins) but once it starts getting tough and your really making progress it can easily fill up 1.5hr in me experience. I'm more concerned with making the lift than sticking to any strict rest intervals though, good 15 mins of mobility first aswell.

I wish I started at 16, get ready for swole status.

Ahh I see I will be starting it next Monday properly and did you read the 200 page report before doing itt? D:

Pages 40-43 are the important ones, IIRC. The rest is just fluff - not sure why he thought a 200+ page booklet was needed to tell people about a routine that a goldfish could remember.

Just read those couple of pages if you're in a rush, and spend the extra time on learning about correct form for each lift.

Eat the whole egg. Between 3 & 4 a day here.

In a pyrex jug with some pepper & olive oil and of course a couple of splashes of milk. In the microwave, dollop of ketchup once done (I am filthy), devour -> gainz.

Didn't even know there was a 200 page report! I read a lot of the literature probably but really you just need to know the routine & progression rules then read/watch Rippetoe Starting Strength to get good tekkers :p.

I read it and thought it was useful, so if I were you I'd read it. it doesn't take long at all (there are quite a few pictures and and some of it is just success stories which you can ignore) and explains a bit as to the history of 5x5 routines. It will help convince you that you don't need to mess with the program, which you might find yourself having an urge to do as a new lifter.

I think it's more personal experiences and stories than stuff you need to read.

Just skim the parts that obviously aren't necessary.

I think I will have to move gym for sure because I know I'm only going to be getting decent weights on squats is on the smiths and he clearly stresses NOT to use it and I don't want to mess up the routine and there isn't even Olympic bars it's just the one thing that brought me to that gym was that my mate went their and he is just a little bit bigger than me and he really motivates me to get my lifts done because he does them and then when I struggle I want to give up I think nah **** that he did and so will I but he wont move gym with me as he is already paying for the gym membership at the one I attend atm so he wont want to swap so I wont have a partner and that will mean A LOT less motivation :/

Think of it this way:

If your friend wants to train in a gym without proper bars, he's a phaggot.

Motivation will come with gains.

He doesn't really understand the benefits of free>fixed/assisted and obviously he is still paying a contract at that gym so it is hard for him to move because he obviously can't afford and wouldn't want to be paying 2 memberships. I will try and 'convert' him. But I think for my own personal gains I will just have to move.

If he needs much convincing, send him this way :D

I was only being tongue in cheek btw. Good for you for wanting to change to a good gym; I'm sure you'll meet some people there that motivate you :)

Ill have to if he doesn't. He does think he knows best a lot of the time! And I just need to do a lot more research on the gym. Make sure it has olympic bars good weights and a...power rack it is?? And ill be good to go!
