Hmm I see where your coming from and music would help a lot but someone stood there pushing me on is great and its company and someone to talk to! I will just get some lads down the new gym it shouldn't be a problem finding someone haha!
 
You get used to training alone. Occasionaly it does suck but most of the time it doesn't bother me in the slightest, just need some strong music. Make your own motivation!

I find a partner, whilst motivating for particularly heavy or PB busting days, which might not be that productive, useful. However most of the time training with someone else, unless they are equally focused, could be a hinderance and reduce your intensity and increase time unnecesarily wasted.

You're not there to socialise! In my third year of uni I helped an aquaintance from the gym out with a study for his sports science degree, ended up that we would train legs together one day of the week.

It was an absolute pleasure to train with somebody as driven & focused as I was. Sure whilst we warmed up & mobilised we would have a little chin wag, which took all of 10 minutes. After that it was headphones in, plates on the bar and slaps on the back ready for some punishment. The only time we would actually speak to eachother was to query the weight for the next set/user. Knowing that he was there spotting & watching me was encouragement enough not to be a ***** and to get my reps out.

I'd be reluctant to regularly train with anybody that didn't value intensity & focus.
 
I completly get where you're coming from and ill probably go down on my own now and really focus! I'm trying out a new gym tonight hopefully it will be the right one this time.

And is it better for me to eat all my food after I go gym or can I eat before aswell?? And I can have 1 cheat day on my diet right?? :D

Omelettes suck. Just scramble eggs and chuck stuff in with them and add cheese, basically the same thing :p

I did scrambled eggs in a pan (exactly as skillmister described) for the first time in aaaages today, I've done them in the microwave for far too long and oh. My. God. I liked eggs before, but I am now basically in love. Big chunk of butter and gentle warming of pan is the key, too good for words.
 
I was going to do the scrambled eggs like that today but I fancied a omelet with bacon...what didn't we have? Bacon. I made one anyway!

I'm off to the gym now to start Workout A!
Hopefully my legs will take the squats and they've been killing all day and I've struggled to walk my quads and hurt so much hahaha. Or maybe Im just being a big girl about it all.
 
Haha I know and thanks! :D I was working in between some guy and he was doing 160KG each set..then my 7.5 ;) haha. I know I've got to start somewhere though and Im not embarrassed about what I lift :D

You're young enough to be outlifting all of us eventually, you **** :D

Disregard people lifting heavier than you in the gym, chances are he wasn't going deep enough anyway.

That reminds me, get some videos of your sets and post them up.

Haha I will be one day don't you worry about that!

And I don't tend to take notice of them and if I do it's only because It gets me thinking if I keep at what I'm doing Ill be that big one day!

I'll get some videos up Monday if all goes to play that will be workout B and then Wednesday I'll get workout A filmed. I'm SURE you will all have a lot to help me on with my lifts because no doubt Ill go wrong somewhere!
 
Okay so I know this is a touchy subject with some guys but I'm going to ask a quick question on supplements.

It was you Ice that recommended that I take 2 Scoops whey and 1 Scoop dextrose after my workout but could I take Creatine before my workout like an hour before? I don't plan on taking any supplements until I've been going a while..or shall I just start now and when I say a while I only really mean a month or two. Also If I do take creatine shall I load it? People say do some say don't it doesn't make a difference and I get confused haha!

Also the meal replacement you said 2 Whey 1-2 Oats because I don't eat breakfast (No time at all in the mornings) Should I look at having something like that for breakfast and lunch seeing as I don't like school lunches (I do take a tuna and mayo pasta but maybe more is needed?? )
 
Yeah, 2whey 1dextrose (gives around 40g of protein and ~50g carbs) is pretty standard for post workout. Due to the way creatine works, you'd be best off having it with this PWO shake. Don't worry about loading it, I see it as unnecessary hassle (do it if you really want...).

I'd say a crappy breakfast and lunch are the idea time to have that meal replacement shake. Obviously it's better if you can get those calories from real food, but it's not the end of the world (it's only oats and a product from milk after all).
 
I thought creatine gave you extra 'energy' so helped you lift more reps or weight and just pushed your more that's why I thought it would be better before? I'm probably wrong about what it does. And shall I take a protien dextrose shake after rugby to help with recovery?

And I will have that meal replacement shake then but try and eat when I can. Will i be able to pre mix the drink then just like have it in the fridge ready to grab and drink in the morning on the way to my bus stop?
