edit: just comparing the total files/overall size ratio, your files must be pretty low quality.... :p

majority are 128kb/s

70 gig on this computer plus well over 70gig on my external hdd which a mate is borrowing. So over 135 gig in total, probably about 15000 tracks in total

yeah it saves space (is space even a problem these days?) it also sounds like crap lol. if you dont care about the sound quality thats fair enough, but 13 thousand songs ripped in low quality? sod that lol

IMO, if you're gonna spend ages ripping and naming hundreds of CDs you may as well encode them in the highest quality you have the space for, which is why I encode in FLAC, and hence my music folder is quite big. :)

iTunes says 6171 songs, 33.25Gb. I've not encoded all my CDs, but it's pretty much all there. There is a lot of stuff that I don't have, but this offers a large enough selection.
