Wimbledon

:( as i thought Fed out, was hoping he would go all the way...win the final then hang up his racket.

Novak to win i hope.

All this shrieking is just pure gamesmanship and something should be done about it.

They only do it to try put the opponent off.

You mean like last time they tried to stop it and nothing happened?

Imagine hearing Sharapova in a hotel in the early hours of the morning.

Former Wimbledon champion Maria Sharapova, who has officially reached 101 decibels (a lion's roar is 110 decibels)

LoL!

They always use the excuse that the players have done it all their lives so it would mess their game up to stop.

I reckon if the umpire started automatically giving the point to the opponent as soon as they started shouting it would soon stop!

Never gonna happen though.

How did Sexy Sorana lose that match to Cutesy Camila

She served for both sets and got broken then had set point in the 2nd set tiebreak and maybe in first as well.

At least a babe is thru to next round

LoL!

I don't know why, but reading that bit made me sweat really heavily.

No Marion!! She got disturbed by the cheering when Fed lost and she was serving for match. Mchale finally started to play as well.

Sexy Sorana "I need to pluck my eyebrows" threw away the 1st set but break up in 2nd versus Camila "I play in my underwear" Giorgi

Your lecherous (and dramatically unfunny) quips about all the female players are hugely grating.

Same comment, every year in every tennis thread :(

I know but I am slightly hopeful that pointing it out to him might help bring home how silly a comment it is to keep making.

Noooooooooooooo :(.

Making it even easier for Murray now ffs.

I wouldn't go discounting anyone at the moment, it's only the first few days and already a number of the seeds have gone out one way or another. I'm a bit disappointed to see Federer go out because he makes tennis look beautiful rather than simply efficient but Stakhovsky deserved the win today.

God, watching the replay of Sharapova and L De Brito, it's strangely hilarious all this screaming.

It's so over the top it's almost funny in short bursts but I think listening to a full match of that screaming would get wearing very, very quickly. I think the organisers (or the Tour itself) needs to implement some sort of system to stop that - the grunting is bad enough but the screaming is worse.

Thats the main reason I love watching Federer play, the way he plays. That and his general attitude.

Remember Andy has beaten Novak the last two times they have met at Wimbledon (Wimbledon 2012 and Olympics)

Now the monkey is off his back thanks to the brilliant NY victory last year (and dont forget how close Andy was at beating Fed in the final last year, and Fed was probably a better grass player than Novak then) AM has a really grat chance this year

I was really concerned about Tsonga but thankfully he is now out (although of course I hope his knee recovers soon)

I think its safe to say Murray would rather play Novak than Federror in a final. Until Federror's loss Wimbledon was his, and I see Murray been a very slight favorite on grass (if he holds under the pressure)

Having said that they will now probably get knocked out and it'll be a frenzy of activity googling who the hell the other players are :)
