Wimbledon

The Williams sisters have ruined women's tennis. Discuss.

I dont even bother to watch any more, without being overly harsh....they just out hit everyone.....

And then they seem spoiled/bitter as shown when arguing with the umpire (sharapova does this also) it is horrible to see and shows no respect.

One last final rant, how does Serena get away with wearing bright orange/purple underwear when Fed has to change shoes due to orange bottoms?

They don't out hit everybody, though they are extremely powerful. Their biggest asset is their mental strength as the majority of women players crumble the closer they get to the finish line, and none of them seem to really believe they can beat Serena. Even the likes of Sharapova have massive confidence issues.

Classic scenario from a game I was betting on on Monday was Niculescu served for the match, got to 40-0 up then lost 6 consecutive points to lose her serve and, in the next game, the match.

5, not 6 :p

You see that so often though, women lose their serve a scary %age of the time. In a men's game at Wimbledon, lets say Dimitrov vs Zemlja, Dimitrov was 1/12 to hold serve, Zemlja 1/6.

Right now Robson vs Duque-Marino, Robson is 2/7 to hold, Duque-Marino is 4/5.

Robson gets broken serving for the set, shock horror! 5-4*, but inevitably breaks straight back to win it 6-4.

Sounds like a good win for Laura Robson (6-4, 6-1). Hate being stuck at work when there's sport to be watched.

Decent chance in the next round against Marina Erakovic too.

Tommy Haas is monstrously impressive against Jimmy Wang. Leads 6-3, 6-2, 0-1 and has won 100% of his first serves including 25 points in a row on his own serve.

Wasn't a great match. But now she's beaten Mariana she's through to play one of her best mates, guitar playing, Marina (Erakovic)

After that it looks likely she'll play Ursula Radswanszka or Angelique Kerber both of whom are readily beatable by Laura

FFS, i've been a bit ill this week and fell asleep during the robson match. :o

glad she's through though. i was just reading about another seed (kerber) getting knocked out and saw this -

The German's loss means only four of the top 10 seeds have reached the women's third round.

can't be many left in the men's either.

edit: just seen stakhovsky is out. that always happens. :o
