Wimbledon

Shame Lisicki broke down so hard.

Still, her 1st Grand Slam final, I guess the pressure can get to you. She still has plenty time and more chances, especially if she can hold this form she had until the final.

Brings tears to my eyes, Lisicki is so sweet and gracious. :(

It wasn't her ability that let her down, she could easily beat Bartoli. It was her nerves and emotions. Lisicki will win it next year I reckon.

Well played to Bartoli although it was a bit disappointing from Lisicki, especially in the first set where she just didn't seem to get started. Part of that is no doubt down to how Bartoli came out and performed though.

I've lost count of how many terrible women's finals I've seen at Wimbledon now. Lisicki never even turned up until the first lot of match points, spent most of the game looking like she was about to burst into tears and in the end barely saved herself from double breadsticks. A double bagel wouldn't have been an inaccurate score either, it was that bad... I feel for Lisicki as I did want, and expect her to win, but she choked so comprehensively I'd feel robbed if I'd have paid to see that.

:(

Don't think I've seen a sadder tennis match.

Well done Bartoli, she handled it very well.

Poor Lisicki didn't seem to be in it from the start.

Lisicki must be feeling sick, knocked out two tournament favourites and then lost in the final to someone who had a comparatively easy run. Bartoli winning Wimbledon without losing a single set is just bizarre.

I thought the presentation was poor. It felt heartless compared to other years. Felt like here's your trophy I'm off back upstairs.

That pretty much describes 90% of the women's tour. Her record at Wimbledon suggests she has a decent chance of winning one, what with Serena getting on a bit and no clear dominant player(s), but everywhere else it sucks pretty hard - think she needs some better coaching, more of a Plan B and to compose herself better on court. Wearing your heart on your sleeve is fine if you're winning or not expected to win, but Bartoli must have thrived off seeing how in pieces she was.

Anyone understand the betting odds for tomorrow? If I put down £100 for Djokovic to win, what's the most I could possibly win? I don't suppose it'll be anything like 5/1.
