Why are they named "windows6.1-KB976932-X64.exe" and not "windows7-KB976932-X64.exe"???
Because this version of Windows is actually version 6, not 7

Updated with no issues here on 64bit version.

Great installed, booted into Windows and greeted by 20+ message boxes of such and such has crashed and needs to close... fantastic, time to uninstall this junk me thinks![]()

Why does it say it was released today? . . . . . . .
Mine is genuine OEM.

Update went perfectly on Windows 7 Ultimate x64 using windows update.
I got it today and I’m on the Ultimate build containing SP1 from last week. It either missed the boat or they are making sure that activation and validation fix is in place.
Don't know if this is the right place to ask but here goes
I downloaded those two ISO files from MDL and installed Home Premium 64bit fine on my desktop with my retail key.
If I use the same procedure on my Netbook with Windows 7 Starter (obviously using the 32bit ISO) using the OEM product key that came with the computer does it activate fine? Or do I have to use the icky recovery partition for it to be all nice and activated?
Updating now with sp1, can't say i'm excited over an SP update![]()

Did mine in the early hours of this morning...took about 25mins, all seems fine(touch wood)![]()
