Windows 10 slow connecting/loading web pages.

Any suggestions?

See my post above regarding DNS.
Wired or wireless? First post isn't clear.
Try a different network cable.
Try a different port on the router.
It may be worth buying a network card (Intel EXPI9301CTBLK) to rule out the onboard network adaptor.

It's wired. I've tried different ports and different cable but it still doesn't work while my other does. That card you suggested doesn't work with windows ten according to a review?

I tried some other things as well tonight. I managed to ping my router and ping my network card. Both came back with no packets lost 0 or 1 ms.

Pinged google (which loads really fast) and got no packets lost 14ms.

Pinged amazon, motogp, bangood and get request timed out, all packets lost.

Does this indicate anything in particular, apart from I can get google but nothing else?

I would buy a cheap USB WIFI dongle and try that, that should rule out any issues on the network hardware side of your PC.

It will also be interesting if you could try a different router/modem as well, it's not unheard of for some systems having issues with certain routers etc...

Have you also checked the router has the latest firmware, rebooted it as well?

Try the TP-LINK TG-3468

Works with Windows 10 according to testimonials on another site.

Normal. I'm able to ping bangood, but this doesn't mean much.

Have you tried my DNS suggestion?
What's the model of the motherboard?

I've ordered a dongle to try that.

Not got access to another router, will buy one if worse comes to the worse.

I'll look at getting the card to try that. Haven't yet tried the DNS but it's on the list. I'm not particularly computer literate so this is all new to me.

Machine specs-- Gigabyte Z97X-SLI Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX
Motherboard

CP-540-IN Intel Core i5-4690K 3.50GHz (Devil's Canyon) Socket LGA1150
Processor

Right so I got my wifi dongle and still slow. What exactly does that rule out?

It should rule out any faulty motherboard network controller or drivers since you are trying out a new device with new drivers.

I'm still leaning towards hardware issue since you say it happens on both Win10 or Linux OS, still not 100% certain about your router/modem, btw any issues or faults with your ISP provider and your internet line?

Did you disable the onboard network card or disconnect the cable before using the WiFI adaptor?

Disconneted the cable so was definitely going through the dongle. Bought a decent one with usb 3.0 so the speed using that wouldn't confuse the issue.

Hi Kia, changed the DNS and that seems to have worked. I'm hoping that this is the permanent fix,
Thanks for all the help everyone, it's much appreciated.

It was good while it lasted. It klilled my ping gaming so had to go back to auto detect. Oddly the connection speed hasn't slowed. I've really no idea what's going on.

Not sure if I buy this. I don't think the two are related.

What game are you talking about?
