Windows 10

Apologies if already answered. How on earth do you remove folders from all apps.

I uninstalled an Asus product yet the folder is still in all apps on start menu. Deleting the folder from windows/start menu/programs doesn't work like it used to in 7.

Does anyone on here have either an iso or esd of build 10532 pro 64bit that they could kindly host for me to download - my test machine refuses to see this latest build - have checked everything, all other windows updates come down fine, and all activated etc etc

Would be very grateful

Mark

Update nvm don't need it now.

Got a Samsung SM951 (NVMe version) coming and as I cant be bothered to re-install windows 7 to it, then download an ISO to do a clean install etc. etc. Also with the question "is Windows 10 a Retail versions if I upgrade my retail copy of Windows 7" still in doubt (at least in my mind). And "yes" I'm aware that a lot say "yes" the upgrade to Windows 10 will be retail. Basically I don't trust Microsoft .

So.... I've ordered Windows 7 home USB (retail) from ocUK. Only a couple of quid more than OEM, so can't quite see why anyone would want to buy it OEM on DVD!? This way I definately know what I've got. And I can always use my current Windows 7 (retail) on another machine should I wish.

Bring it on.

PS. ocUK do in fact have some stock of the NVMe version of the SM951. It just doesn't seem to appear in the O/L shop for some reason. You need to search "SM951 nvme" and then it appears. Even then it looks like it's on "pre order" but if you check the stock levels, they actually do have some. Windows 10 USB retail also looks to be "pre order". But again, if you check stock levels, they have plenty. Strange...

Yeah but the whole privacy thing on Win10 is gathering great media attention, the report will be put on OneDrive and then made available to Microsoft so they can start grooming your children lol

I am still on Windows 8.1 and have just been checking my 'Update History' in 'Window Updates' and find that it has been trying to 'Upgrade to Windows 10 Pro', often two or three times a day, but fails every single time.

I know I could always use a USB drive image, but am curious as to why it should keep failing. My wife's desktop and a couple of laptops have managed it without any problems... well apart from the time it took that is!

Yeah none of your children's documents could ever end up on OneDrive using any other OS could they...

Totally Windows 10s fault...

Strange problem: I've installed Windows 10 on my desktop & laptop & using the same Microsoft Account for both. Now each machine has a different keyboard layout & Windows seems to be auto-switching between the two, meaning on one machine the keyboard layout is the wrong one. How do I stop it from doing this?
Ignore :o Found the sync settings

Didn't say it was, However there will be plenty of media spin on the subject so MS need to do or say something....

Can anyone help with this issue from my step father please?

Since yesterday's W10 updates, I find that there is little time to select items from a drop down list, and the cursor often freezes, even in mid-word typing. Sometimes, rolling the pointer over a menu makes it disappear.

In regards to the above, have you tried to create a new 'test' account to see if the issue goes away?

Also, has anyone used Intel RST with windows 10 (Is there even a Windows 10 Version?) If so, how is it? I am running RAID you see on the Intel controller, so would like to install it.

I have it installed, version 14.5.0.1081 which I got from the Dell website for my PC. Works fine with no problems, just as it did with Windows 8.1.

Using them in an X99 platform without problems. Latest ones are here:

I got mine from Intel's website(same version number), using mine for SSD cache, no issues on 10.

Great stuff, thanks fellas. I shall get them installed later on today, a quick question if any of you know, does TRIM work on RAID, as it doe on a single SSD system?

One small thing I have noticed (because I switch the PC off after each session) is that the computer takes longer to turn off with Windows 10 than 7. On the plus side it starts up much quicker.

This is not an issue, just noting. I have three SSD's and no HDD's in the box.
