Windows 10

Lol, click bait is click bait much?

Microsoft have renamed Search into Cortana. But if you don't connect it with Microsoft, it's still just search. Its purely a branding thing to get Cortana as a phrase out there.

Feel free to ignore that and post trash though.

No, DistributedCOM seems to be the worst offender.

DCOM always has been. I get worried when it's not throwing errors.

Yeah, 10010 and 10016.

I seem to be getting this every two days. 1008, Perflib.

The Open Procedure for service "BITS" in DLL "C:\Windows\System32\bitsperf.dll" failed. Performance data for this service will not be available. The first four bytes (DWORD) of the Data section contains the error code.

UserData

- EventXML

param1 BITS

param2 C:\Windows\System32\bitsperf.dll

binaryDataSize 8

binaryData 0200000000000000

Still getting it after this. https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/51f326e4-58b3-42a2-bd87-9ad18261dfdf.aspx

So here we are, one last full day in UK to upgrade from 7/8 to 10 for free. Keep your evening free to bail out family!;)

Still unable to install update KB3172985. Downloads the update, restarts then says 'cannot complete the update, undoing changes'.

Tons of reports of people having the same issue. Hopefully the Anniversary update fixes it.

I got that email and I've never been an insider. I guess I must have visited the website at some point while logged in with my microsoft account???

My mate decided to upgrade his PC to Windows 10 today.... Via a Windows 7 install...

Vista 64 ---> Windows 7 --> Windows 10 Upgrade

So about 3-4pm he got to 99% on the Windows 10 upgrade... He's gone to bed with it still at 99 % :(

Sometimes happens - usually it will revert on a forced reboot and then take fine the second attempt or randomly come to life like 6 hours later.

Had an annoying one on an update on my tablet where it stuck at 96 or 97% for 6 hours before I killed it and then updated in less than an hour on second attempt.

Hopefully if it goes through on its own, or with a reboot today (Saturday) it'll still count!!! (ie: be free)

This happened to me. Wife destroyed her laptop screen again, so bought a whole new one this time (same model). Comes with win7 pro. Started upgrade at 7pm last night, went to bed at 11 with it stuck at 99%. Got up at 7, still on 99%. So ended up using the create media tool and did it that way. Activated with 30 minutes left on the clock (it timed out at 11am today).

Microsoft’s free Windows 10 upgrade offer officially ended yesterday. However, the company has left a loophole. If you need to use assistive technologies, you can still upgrade for free. Microsoft also isn’t verifying if you do.

if you've missed out on the free upgrade, you could try this https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/acc...3330X911647X8e16700aad96f8a50e7dfb2b53db829c)() they don't verify you if your using assistive technologies or not.
