Windows 10

Linux Mint 17.2 RC are proved very good similiar to popular Windows XP. But Linux is very poor on gaming thought and some Windows programs won't work or support Linux is a let down.

What that got to do with licensing?

Windows and Linux are so far apart in terms of license structure you may as well compare Windows 10 to buying your weekly shopping.

I end up downloaded ISO build 10158 x64 at the end. But there is no MD5 or SHA-1 available. Bit security risky! I would rather wait for Microsoft UK 10158 ISO here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/preview-iso

I wish Microsoft hurry up put on the site!

I agree, as had assumed that those on the Insider program would be able to download an 'official' ISO file for version 10158 this morning, but it doesn't seem to have appeared on the above page yet.

Most folk would, I am sure, prefer to download from a 100% reliable and certified source, so hopefully one will appear somewhere soon!

I have exactly the same problem - have a thread going about this in the win 10 forums, but no solution  Anybody have a link to the iso please.

Mark

I had no problem with that build updating to the latest. I was logged into my MS account, if that makes a difference, and could select the fast ring for updates, hence my upgrade being done.

What I, and I guess others also, would like to do is to install an ISO for the latest (10158) version without having to download 10130 first, and then have to upgrade from that.

I thought that you had difficulty in getting the update from the 10147 build when you quoted bulldog....?

Windows 7 - very good
Windows 8 - very poor & ugly
Windows 8.1 - poor but not bad ugly
Windows 10 - much better overall

Don't know how you figure that.

Win7 stable (like Vista SP1/2) but rehash of Vista, going back to Win95 UI wise so nothing special and on its way out in less then five years.

Win8 stable but needed some minor improvements and released a bit prematurely IMHO.

Win8.1 corrected a lot of minor issues with Win8 ,again very stable.

As to ugly?...That's subjective,I could argue a good point and say Win7 or any Windows is ugly compared to a lot of Linux distros( I actually think Vista looks slightly better then Win7).

Win10 looks fine to me,however lets be fair and wait until it's fully released before some of you decide to condemn it.

No, I quoted him as he also appeared to be waiting for the 10158 ISO download to become available on Microsoft's Insider Preview Download page.

The official route to 10158 at the moment is to download the ISO for 10130 and update it in the Fast ring.

I wouldn't waste time hang going about waiting for a 10158 ISO. Not every build that's been pushed to the Fast ring has got a Microsoft ISO download.

Thanks Skeeter... so I take it that you wouldn't recommend using the links on http://microsoft-news.com/download-windows-10-build-10158-iso/ then?

EDIT: I have just seen Bulldog's post above, which I assume is a 'safer' source'?

I don't think that's an official microsoft website.

No it's not, although they have tried to make it look a bit like one!

@bulldog147... can I ask you where your download link came from please?

EDIT: Actually having clicked on the link and ending up on "thedailytrader.net" website, I guess it is no more reliable than the one from 'microsoft'news' I quoted earlier!

It is not even taking me to a download page either... and I am clicking on the small top download box!

Or do I have to register on the 'userscloud' site first?
