Stupid question, will this let me do an upgrade install or does it have to be clean?
Cheers

Cheers, not really important as its being stuffed on the laptop, but I'd rather upgrade as its less of a pain

January 2010 is the 'official' deadline, but MS are likely to RTM well before Christmas. There's a rumour they may even RTM alongside the Vista SP2 RTM sometime in April.Forgive my stupidity but is 7 marked down for a 2009 release? I've heard lots of good things regarding the performance.![]()
Tried win7 32bit b7000 for a day:
*x-fi extreme gamer installed using vista compatibility
*dreamscene hack works but dodgy fonts on desktop & buggy
*wmp buggy/freezes
*wmc now supports hd codecs & ac3 5:1 but still not use actual folders in music library
*belkin wifi card wont install
*installing super-antivirus kills windows with an instant bsod & recurring bsods
*some virus monitors wont work
Still using Windows 7 64bit b6801:
*this build still uses old vista start-bar
*feels more like vista but I now have 4gig ram
Waiting for Windows 7 64bit build 7000...
Yep - use the option 'use small icons'.If there's a way to make the taskbar smaller then I look forward to having a bash at this one. I don't like my precious pixels being taken up by the taskbar![]()

You won't get in to trouble... but it's public release is not far off anyway, so I would just wait.
Tis this build.A[L]C;13227065 said:Is it due to be a new release or will it be build 7000?
