Windows 7 beta - 9th January

went to the link then it asks you what O/S you want 64/32bit and which language, after that it takes you to another page asking you a few questions about yourself then it says sending you link to your email address got the link clicked on it and then it goes to another page to make sure its your email, you click next and then thats when the error comes up,

Hi sunderland, that doesn't necessary mean the link will be available. If it was be available, then it should also be available here too (Which it isn't, or it certainly wasn't 2 minutes ago) as per this post here which is located on page two in this thread. :)

I think its really a waste of time to try to get it at this point in time.

EDIT - It seems to have got worse as Im not getting as far now as I did 20 minutes ago.

I was working night shift the other night when it appeared on Technet so grabbed the ISO then :D Couple of things so far:

1. The watermark "Windows 7 for testing purposes only Build 7000" in the lower right corner is the same as the leaked copy. Was there any point in grabbing the official ISO?

2. Windows Live messenger hasnt worked since I had the pre-release and also in this release. Can anyone confirm? I dual boot with XP and it works fine under XP, but it's still saying "Service unavailable" in Windows 7?

Apart form that I'm loving it. Cant believe it's a beta as it just works so well. Installed the Nvidia drivers and have been playing COD5 without a single problem! I'm definitely making the jump from XP to 7 after trying Vista but finding the constant hard disk thrashing and general clunkiness off putting. Windows 7 feels a lot more streamlined and less bloated :)

Just waiting for the official public beta now so I can grab a key. We only have one Technet key so havent activated my technet copy yet :(

The thing that is daft is all those who dont get it legally will end up using unofficial downloads. MS should just open it right up and get loads of feedback and release it for a moderate fee.

Has worked fine for me in 6801, 6956 and 7000 - using the latest version each time (8.5, not the 9w3 beta).
