Is this good enough to have as a main OS yet? Fancy having a go just out of interest really, but is there anyway to have the normal vista taskbar rather than that ghastly thing?

You can get a close approximation through changing some options.

What I decided to do was give them the benefit of the doubt and try to persevere with it for a couple of weeks. I like it now, and wouldn't bother changing it.

Yes RC1 is coming soon and think MS may release RC2 before final release - so think the final release may come into 2010 rather than 2009 cos MS wont say when as they keep quietly so have to wait and see - just now use Vista SP1 and soon be SP2 on the way or use W7 beta/RC1 -- I wait until Windows 7 final release come out then I buy one it wont be too long - it need some more work and aviod being too hurry like Vista that was went wrong with hardware support when it came out in 2007 so have to sit and feet up until box fall off from the back of the truck...

I'm still using 7000 iirc, the original BETA, been suspiciously solid for many weeks now, not had one issue yet.

I am using build 7057 64bit as my main OS, only thing I've found that doesn't work is punkbuster in CoD4

So I reboot into XP 64 to play Cod4

Ah thats a shame as I like a bit of COD4 so.....

I am still using Windows 7 Beta as my main OS, built this PC around it, getting to quite like it but seem to have a few issues and quirks which I hope will be ironed out when it's released.

Most of my issues seem to be with the Media players.

Yep, been using it as my main OS since the day it was released.

For people with punkbuster problems have you tried using this:

I only ask cause Punkbuster was kicking me in Battlefield 2 until I ran that & selected Battlefield 2. Now it is working with no problems

But I am running the 32bit version of Win 7
