Windows 7 build 7057

Anyone having trouble with their icons on the desktop not being visible with dual monitors? Apparently it's quite common but I can't find any solution.

Just about to install W7 to a RAID 0 array using the intel chip on my Gigabyte P35C-DS3R and this is making me think twice (about RAID 0 not W7). What hardware are you running?

Done it now, I unplugged the second RAID (which I had to do for Vista too) and got the vista x64 raid drivers from my motherboard manufacturer (Asus M3A79-T)

Installed fine now, I just should have written the key down clearer.

Using Windows 7 build 7000 on my laptop since release. IE8 is nice but a bit buggy and its new rendering engine is a bit annoying for a few sites.

Otherwise solid.

Core Duo T2300
2GB DDR2 (worked fine with 1GB, but memory heavy programs like google earth started causing pagefile usage to rocket).
32GB SSD
Intel 945GM chipset

I assume the key I grabbed at the initial BETA release will work just fine with these newer RCs?

Edit - It will :) Off to find an x64 version.

Really liking this version, i feel its smoother and more rounded than Vista, and feel like i may be able to finally say goodbye to xp!
Im assuming from what i can find is my comp not overclocking in windows is probably something to do with the motherboard.
But the system doesnt seem overburdended with a resource heavy OS like vista and seems quite nippy without the overclock!

Im really looking forward to building myself a new rig next year (ive promised GF this rig will last 4 years before i shell out on a new one!) little does she know this has been upgraded! :D

Edit, i dont mind sending a copy of my x64 7057 to anyone that needs it. (i have plenty of spare DVDs!!)

That's strange, it has just appeared!
But it wasn't there

What scores are people now getting on the performance index?

To fix folow this

Some are having a start up issue where the desktop ini file opens up.. to fix that..

1. Under Folder Options -> View , select "Show hidden files, folders and drives" and un-check "Hide protected operating system files" so that you can see the hidden desktop.ini files.

2. Open the start orb and at the search type: shell:startup and press Enter. The start menu startup folder will open, where you will find a desktop.ini file. Delete it.

3. Open the start orb and at the search type: shell:common startup and press Enter. The "all users" start menu startup folder will open, where you will find a desktop.ini file. Delete it too.

4. Done. Reboot and the desktop.ini will not appear again.
