one thing they should drop is 'upgrade ability'
upgrades are dirty and leave so many left overs, there are too many variables to contend with, they should just force a boot from DVD install with no upgrade option
that what I mentioned about later in 2010 or maybe delay into 2011..

MS need lots of work and testing before it release to make sure it work and dont want same mistake as Vista - the team need lots of work in time without beign too hurry... I would think it take time, I dont think W7 would release in 2009 - most likely are from 2010 or later that depend from MS when they are done.

I agree with that.
Had to do an XP Home to Professional Upgrade last week, and it was awful. It wouldn't join the domain without around 2 hours of fiddling. Ended up just formatting in the end.
Also, I'll probably get Vista Business for my Desktop - Home Premium for other machines.
I'll get Business because I want remote desktop.
Fairly sure those articles are garbage. MS has said it'll be done early 2010 (setting themselves a very achieveable goal), and are more than likely going to RTM before the end of this year. The Beta's feature complete, and pretty stable. Next is a Release Candidate, then a release. It's not going to be long. That article says they haven't started planning. Eh? If they haven't started planning, then how have they released a feature complete version? It also says it might not be released until 2013. I would expect the version after 7 to be released around then - so maybe they've got their wires crossed.MS need lots of work and testing before it release to make sure it work and dont want same mistake as Vista - the team need lots of work in time without beign too hurry... Vista was a big change. 7 will not be. If it works on Vista, it'll pretty much work on 7.again agreed. when i did my ms training, they admitted that the biggest problem with vista was they did not get the beta out quick enough to the software companies and rushed the release date.

no mobility center on home premium? what does that mean for laptops?
Under the list of missing things from the Home Premium it has Offline Folders. Anyone care to enlighten me as to what Offline Folders are and if I (being an average Joe) am likely to miss them?
Thanks
Mr-Xoc
What they should do is just do one edition and charge a flat £50 for it. They'd wipe the floor and put mac out of business
I'll probably buy Ultimate, feels second rate otherwise![]()
Haha such tomfoolery![]()
