Dodgy mouse drivers from roccat which my mouse still wont properly detect in device manager. Gaming feels horrible aswell. movement just feels very laggy. and before you ask no my pc is way good enough for cod WaW and i do not have vsync or tripple buffering on. It feels like mouse lag or something just horrible. not enjoying gaming because of it and im not gaming so much online anymore.

I do like everything else just drivers dont seem to be coming quick enough. Not sure if my mouse is not smooth because of the drivers not properly being on. in device manager in mouse options it just has HID mouse. it doesnt even recongnise my roccat kone.

Do you have vista to fall back on temporarily? You could always revert back to another operating
system until the creases have been ironed out of windows 7 with a service pack.

Do you both have ATi cards? As far as I know they are yet to come out with some actual W7 drivers and so things arent working too well. All my nVidia PCs are (and have been for a while) running W7 beautifully. My only ATi however is as sluggish as anything.
Not really Microsoft's fault.

No i aint got that anymore. i think my mouse has issue that some others have got. i have emailed roccat about it. I formatted my windows yesterday as far as i was aware my drivers were properly installed for the roccat. Now when i install them they just seem to be all over the place. Proper weight not detected. not detected in device tab. Im willing to bet that its the reason my mouse movement feels rather heavy.

I have got 4870 x2 which has the 9.10 driver which as far as im aware is offical. none beta. my fps in games are fine.

Yeah Im running 9.1 too, that rig could manage Crysis on medium settings at 1600x900 with very playable frame rates in Vista. Put W7 on it (9.1) and it cant do borderlands smoothly on lowest settings at 1280x768.
Gaming performance (frame rates) on all nVidia rigs has gone up in W7 from Vista. Wonder if it affects some cards worse than others?

It seems very much like windows 7 isn't remotely your problems, simply that you mouse manufacturer has taken a page from the creative and Kaspersky book, and decided not to bother producing a fully supportive product until too late.

Its not like these driver manufactures haven't had months and months to work upon these issues.
Have you tried an alternative mouse setup to test the other issues if they are mouse related?

Not yet im thinking about going back to a razer diamond back at xmas but im willing to bet they dont have windows 7 drivers either. I have been reading up a lot and it seems windows 7 suffers from mouse acceleration even when its turned off in the mouse settings. Just waiting for roccat to help me out if they ever do. and wait for a mouse acceleration fix.

I know its not an ideal solution but you could use an older mouse or grab something cheaper like an mx-518 until it gets sorted. I recommend the Death Adder, better than my G5. I will add that I haven't installed the drivers for it, the multitude of available settings does my head in, regardless, it works absolutely fine without them.

I aint got the money to buy a new mouse if i could i would have got a diamondback 3G i guess im going to have to wait it out. Can bad mouse drivers and windows not detecting them properly cause my mouse to feel heavy with movement and to not turn so well? the roccat kone control panel works i can adjust things its doesnt feel right.

W7, Nvidia 8800GTX, Logitech G7 gaming mouse, no lag, smooth gameplay, works great, far better than Vista in all respects, and on the whole faster than XP, with the advantage that DX10 games can use DX10 rather than DX9. All in all very happy with W7.

PS Im a human not a PC, and windows 7 wasnt my idea :P
