Windows 7 SP1 RTM

Can't wait for this. The dynamic memory feature they've added to Hyper V in 2008 R2 SP1 will be great and will allow us to get much more value out of each VM host.

If you are running a complete up to date system, there is little need (no need) to install this. Makes much more sense to wait until you can slipstream it.

Except there are new updates in it that aren't/won't be on Windows Update on their own. People reporting Windows running a bit snappier with it. And the ability to recover about 1GB of drive space too, nice for people with SSDs.

Seems i have only one problem with this that i can note, and that's that since installing every time steam starts up it complains about steam being run in compatibility mode.... though i assume steam will update soon to address this rather than it being a bug of any kind

EDIT: just enabled compatibility mode and set it to windows 7 pre SP1 and no error :) Good timing for this really as i just reinstalled windows earlier on, lovely zippy computer again now.

Apparently it was leaked from Russia. Knowing that im not so eager to install that RTM just yet...

This is what ive seen on a forum "The release of this patch is NOT officially sanctioned by Microsoft. It is NOT the official final version. It was an unauthorized and premature leak out of Russia - a country known for harboring badguys. The download site is NOT authorized to host or distribute this patch - especially via Torrents."
