Windows 7

I'm going to download windows 7 beta 1, then when beta 2 comes out, I will download that, but when RC1 comes out, i will download that until retail.

I will give Beta 1 a go... on my Xen Server ;)

I did use Vistas Betas 1 & 2 on my old SN25P Shuttle though, took it to a LAN with it on as my only OS which was Interesting... lol

If I like the Beta that much I may have a go installing it on my Laptop, but we will see :) . I very much doubt there is going to be driver support for my Two 8600M GTs in SLI though :(

I have the pre beta installed now in a triple boot with xp and vista . Few features locked because not finished yet like the new taskbar . Ill be involving myself in the beta release stages for 7.

I'm guessing there will be support for your SLI config, as most of the hardware support is built up from Vista. Not saying it IS Vista, but it will be fairly similar.

i will be

and reporting any problem found too, that way you can possibly get a free copy of the final version

I will be, but i can inform u all that the new taskbar is..... messy.

Its confusing to see whats going on as it hides everything from you, and if you stop it grouping and use small icons to make it look like the old style, it groups things together by type and leave massive gaps between others.

And then there the combination of quick launch style pinned icon and actual open applicatiosn, which dont order themself. You end up with random shortcuts inbetween your active applications...

And its HUGE. like, massive. I use a double or tripple height bar in XP depending on the theme, but making the taskbar double height in 7 makes it take up more room than a tripple height Vista taskbar, but only showing 2 lines. Everything is huge on it!

Bottom line, im not a fan of the new style. And not becuase its different, im all for positive change, but because its confusing and messy.

But I must say, W7 is much faster than Vista!

you'll find the 7 betas will be a lot more complete than the vista betas, since now they're running on stable vista drivers and the code is more mature

Shiny shiny Windows.

Something new to play with. I think I'll give Vista a miss and go straight to W7.

Cant wait to try Windows 7 Beta's, I had no problems with Vista beta's in fact I switched to Vista during the Beta and had no problems at all :), Ok, I did have problems with my X-Fi sound card..

Windows 7 beta 1 is to be released in December. Are you going to download and upgrade vista or wait till it's released?
Rumour back in September was a December Beta 1. Announcements at PDC last week hinted more at an early 2009 Beta program, though.
