What's the point, if your going to do that, stick with windows 7.
Absolutely pointless.

Worked perfect for me with 2 5870s
In the post i took that from someone mentioned: seem to be working fine but that thread says they don't work on 79xx cards.
Anyone else have any luck with Virtual Machine Additions (Virtualbox)?
Edit: does the server edition have the whole metro thing going on?
I tried it on VMWare Player, set it up as i did the dev preview, but it was asking for the DVD driver or something. Didn't have enough time so i cancelled it.
I successfully used VirtualBox on the developers preview, so give it a try mate.
It does use metro, unless it is in Server Core mode.
Well some people don't like the Metro UI but would like the other features that 8 brings. For tablets or angled touch-screen monitors, sure, metro is nice.
But not everyone wants, needs or likes the MetroUI.
They want windows 8 for desktop multi-monitor support (stretch task bar and desktop wallpaper across monitors, or replicate across monitors), new virtual and dynamically expandable Storage Spaces, built in Hyper-V, native USB 3.0 support, vastly improved file management, improved Task manager, native/built-in SkyDrive, syncing multiple devices (PCs, Laptops, Tablets) through the cloud, much faster boot times, new "connected standby" low-power mode for laptops AND boot and run from USBKeys/FlashDrives.
I have tried but once VMAdditions installs and reboots it won't start.

Hey guys,
I got a quick question. I have W8 installed on a VM, will it matter using my main microsoft email address on this? It's just I will probably upgrade my main OS to windows 8 and I don't want accounts messed up etc.
It's probably just me being silly but I would just like to know in case
Thanks!
Exactly - there are a ton of fantastic new features in Windows 8, so to suggest that you should just stick with Windows 7 because you don't want to use the Metro Start menu is ridiculous.
.
After install, I just have a blank screen with the cursor but nothing else visible.
Any ideas?
Yep, exactly what I'm doing, when you start up your machine it'll ask you whether you want to boot into windows 7 or windows 8 - a.k.a dual bootingcould i install this onto a different hdd instead of my c drive? will it still boot?
A lot of the good stuff is very much metro orientated.
This is also a beta. What's the point of disabling the new stuff in a beta.
My Active DP adapter was connected which is where my middle monitor normally is.
Turns out it was showing the blank "sides" of the OOBE screen.
Disconnected the adapter, the screen shifted to view

There's also no point, log in, click desktop as long as you have all your apps pinned to task bar or desktop there's no need to go back to metro unless you want to log off.
Wow 86" gorilla glass screen/tablet thing. With pen, looks awesome.
