Windows 8 Consumer Preview Thread

Why close my Windows 8 thread??

I put a lot of effort in to the first post listing all the new features within Win 8 and now all the people rushing to download the BETA/Consumer Preview wont see any of this. It was the only place on these forums where you could see all the big Win 8 features in a single post. Theres already enough incorrect comments going around regarding Win 8.

Nice one.

There should be two threads. One for the Consumer Preview and one for Win 8 news and features.

Great thanks mate.. I don't suppose you know if a dual boot Win 7/ 8 config is possible. Can't see why not but wondered if it gave the options during install.

yes its possible to dual boot 7 and 8 :)

if you want to dual boot, run setup.exe from the \sources folder. make sure your spare drive/partition is already formatted as ntfs and has a drive letter attched to it and then choose it during setup. job done.

I posted the links 1 second quicker than bledd so I win. :D

Nope, you've yet to complete installation

These downloads are QUICK.

Kudos to Microsoft. I can only imagine the load the servers are under at the moment.

Static traffic doesn't cause load especially if the ISOs are held in physical memory.

BTW Lets simmer down on the excitement and just post relevant information or queries from now on

ok, so it it me, or rather than this being a thread about windows 8 consumer preview, its just people posting their download speeds  is there any way this can move back to the topic in hand. how is the consumer preview? what have people noticed is different compaired to dev preview (if they have tried it) and also, any first opinions from people. no one really care who has cable, who has broadband, who has dialup, we just really want to know about windows 8 CP, or is that just me?!?
