Noob question. You can't set up a partition from some free space right? You have to do it when you first format/partition the drive?

if its windows 7 you can shrink your drive and make a partition, cant remember if this was available in xp, but probs is in vista too.

manage
disk management
right click partition
shrink

Nor me, very useful. Just tested on my old drive and you can go back too, i.e. revert to how it was before :)

Am gonna install W8 onto my old drive but it was playing up a small amount before, so will create another partition for it on my main drive if it continues playing up.

Things to Try

When you sign in to the app, make sure that the country on your computer is set properly and your account is created for the right country.
To change your country, search for "change the country or region setting at http://support.microsoft.com/.
If your account doesn't match the country that your computer is set to, you'll need to create a new account.


What's Going On?

Account/Location Mismatch — C00D1353

Typically, this error occurs for one of the following reasons:

You're trying to sign in to the app in countries or regions where the service is unavailable; or
The computer that you're trying to sign in on is in a different Windows region than where your account is based.

The apps affected by this issue include Xbox Companion, Xbox LIVE Games, Music, and Video. Note that the Windows 8 Consumer Preview Apps are only available in the following locations:

United states
Japan
Germany
France
 
You know, I hate to moan... but after trying it out several times... how is this any better on a PC than Windows 7?

Seems to me like they're forcing one paradigm onto multiple platforms and I really don't think it works.
