Time for me to eat my hat, they just showed and announced start menu is back with live tile integration. Wasn't clear if this was part if 8.11 or a future update, I'm guessing future as it wasn't in with the 8.11 update segment of Build2014.
And metro apps in windows.

So are we going to see the video of you eating it? I mean you're a man of your word aren't you?![]()
speaking of hat eating, where is gareth170? i can only assume he's spontaneously combusted after hearing this news.![]()
Do you get a free spoon too so all those users can be spoon fed while using the Start menu.
when i reply to someone, i try and make my posts coherent and on-topic. how is what you've said anyway related to my post?
They have set the precedent, is seems eminently sensible to me to disable the Metro Interface on boxes that have no touchscreen interface (unless the user wished to enabled it)

Yes it's been confirmed, again it was shown off in the build 2014 keynote 1.
And later.

Windows 8.1 OSR 2?
Now with added USB support y'know!
[Edit] Damn, Win95 didn't even have AGP support at release, never knew that and damn that makes me feel old.
They should give a free Microsoft Silver Spoon in the retail versions of Windows 8.1.1![]()
Don't forget FAT32![]()
