i scored: 52 seconds.

with my system i think thats carp. but when does it start counting from > till?

does it wait till you've loged into the desktop or just to the login screen?

Into the desktop. To get a better score, disable login password and do it again. Just don't forget to enable your password afterwards.

Post a scrennie of your result so others can make a comparison. Obviously, a fresh OS Install is a lot faster compared to one with lots of programs that needs to start with the OS as well, like Anti-virus, Internet Security, Sidebar Gadgets, etc.

Just under 27 seconds on a old 500GB western digital cavier drive running winsdows 7 ultimate 32bit, not bad I think.

Not gonna lie... that's disappointing for that SSD. Do you get any drop in general performance or is it solely with the boot?

General performance is great, it is just the boot time. The boot process is paused for a while at windows logo while ati drivers does its thing, and then the creative drivers. Once desktop opens startup apps and sidebar aps fly open, much faster then when running from a normal hd

24.2 seconds. I have duel boot but selected Windows 7 x64 quickley, but suppose it would have been faster straight in. M225 and a Vertex 60gb (120gb total) in raid 0.

This thread makes an excellent case for SSDs superfast booting windows...but what else is the point of an SSD as an OS drive, what else does it do fast (assuming games are on a larger 7200rpm)?
