--- Windows Server 2008 FREE for Students!!!!! ---

This is a bit of an old thread, but i only recently got round to getting this download to try out the MS hypervisor. I do have a bit of a problem with gfx drivers though. I have installed a couple of nvidia drivers (178.xx and 180.60, aim to try newest ones later on), and i seem to be getting refresh rate issues, or at least, i think its that. The drivers need to be CUDA enabled, so that leaves me with not too many options! I have tried changing the settings in the nvidia cp, but to no avail.... I dont know how many of you guys are still using server 2008, but if you wouldnt mind telling me what drivers you are using, that would be great!

If its important, i have enabled the desktop aero effects, although currently using the basic theme as full aero really messes up scrolling in opera.

Cheers

Mmm... seeing no imporvement despite trying loads of drivers/config options. Intensive googling reveals that a lot of people are experiencing graphics porblems on the host OS after a hyper-v update. I'll see if i can roll back, but i doubt it. A bit of a pain since this is what i wanted the OS for!

Im getting a page not found message :(

I already have one copy of server 08 from the academic alliance so cant complain too much really.

AH got it now, just had to use the Download Software menu

What antivirus software are people using on server 2008? I have managed to free up some time to play a little more, but would prefer to have some sort of AV. Nod32 and Kaspersky wont install because they are not intended for server OSes, so was wondering what AV others are using...?
