Winter 2010/2011

Hate to tell you this , but the way the forecasting is in this country it's NEVER nailed on. We are well behind the states in forecasting even a day ahead

There's a reason for that. Weather for an area surrounded by water is far harder to predict than that for a continental area. Just look at the actual weather differences. We have generally unsettled weather where it can regularly be sunny, rainy and then cloudy in one day, usually most of the US has much more settled weather, same with most of europe.:p

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Colder with frost. Sunny or clear spells but also sleet or snow showers, although these mainly in the east, where some could be heavy and perhaps prolonged.

:eek::eek::D:D

Kent ^

Days off due to snow are all good to me, as long as I don't get half way to work before they change their mind and tell me, spent 90 mins on a sodding bus, should just not have bothered!

The paper said that temperatures could fall to -10 °C by the end of the week with widespread snow and the cold weather is likely to stay well into next month.

It's too warm at the moment and judging by the forecasts I wouldn’t expect any snow before Thursday. Just wait and see.

People with rear wheel drive BMW's will have to stay at home as they can't get off their drive :D

Too true - last winter I couldn't get my car into the drive coming home from work so parked i down the road where the snow was less deep. The next day my wife went into labour, so was able to drive off OK to the hospital. Otherwise could have been a bit hairy...:eek:

I'm in Kent at University this year, and I know Kent is possibly the best place in England for snow, so I'm somewhat excited... :p

However, I will believe it when I see it! ;)

Can we have more snow that last year please. Everyones so happy, random snow fights with random people, walking to shop to buy stuff to make a stew and getting paid for it as work is cancelled. It was so good last year.
I loved that way gritting depots were appearing on the news... :D

Sensationalist reporting, happens every year.

rather than make a new thread just about new york, what are the chances of snow in new york next month?

does it always snow there or will it just be really really really cold?

You might have snow or rain , could be really cold but maybe also some mild spells. Expect some sun with cloudy days :o
