Probably the same as the last couple of years. Comparing this year to last year the temps are similar for the past two months but we have had a hell of a lot more rain in August and September than the same months last year. The rain has been more intense as well which reached a peak of 44.4mm in one hour back in August. Never seen rain like that before. It's probably going to be yet another mild, very wet winter.

Many of the background signals ENSO, NAO, solar activity, Siberian snow cover, etc. are different to previous couple of years and moving more towards setups that often correspond to more wintery weather in the UK but its still pretty touch and go.

I was just going by what my weather station tells me so far and comparing it to my records over the past couple of years.

Much cooler last night had to have some form of heating on! I love winter but not looking forward to using the storage heaters

Coldest day so far I think, was up at 7 and felt distinctly cold! ( Not even winter yet )... Hope for snow :D

So last week it was 24C here, this week it went down to -19C. The joys of a continental climate. :D We got four inches of snow on Thursday/Friday too which is always nice.

Winter has reached Southampton, apparently -1C in places last night.

Out of the blue, it's +1C, even too cool for me to be in shorts, I just hope the early morning sun warms things up a bit by ~0900 when I'll then be out in it for several hours (rather than < 20mins blasting into work on bike shortly)!

Snow is similar to just getting into a relationship.. its fun and exciting at first.. but after a while, all you want to do is shoot it in the head and bury it in the ba....

Nevermind.

I bought a bag of grit and salt 6 years ago to help keep the drive from being lethal. As insurance against snow and ice its worked out very cheap indeed.
