Unless we get 15ft of snow I think I might be disappointed with this so-called Snowmageddon.

We had some good snow in the late 70s and through the 80s I remember, but nothing to write home about since.

No doubt if we get anything approaching an inch the country will grind to a halt!

Round here the gritters and plows don't go into residential streets anymore, so getting out of your own street can be a bit of a challenge sometimes, while the main roads are clear.

Had a few flurries here near Rochester, but that's it. Met Office says a 90%chance of snow tonight though, so may be working from tomorrow tomorrow...

A few flakes here and there on the NW coast but barely enough to fill a bowl and eat for breakfast, but better than expected as we weren't supposed to have anything today but cold

Coming down hard here in Hertfordshire go to love it as the BBC says no snow lol

Edit: That was bizarre coming down quite hard then the sun comes out and it gone

The bulk of it isn't due till tomorrow going off the latest reports but it wouldn't surprise me if it subsides.

Corrections on top of corrections at the moment - Met going back towards Thurs/Fri being snowy again. We are still in the drop off at the moment so only select places will see any kind of wintery weather other than cold anyhow until it has gotten its grip.

It’s hilarious TFL are cancelling transport literally left right and centre yet the latest weather report from the MET is a bit of a dusting at random places at some point over the next few days.

It drives me mad.

The precipitation forecast at the moment is crazy - dry as a bone up until the warm up :(

Sadly unless it changes I can't see snow coming off in any quantities currently about the time it starts it rapidly turns to rain.

EDIT: That said it looks like any real warm up is delayed it will just get less cold - the end of the forecast range is now showing lingering chilly though not super cold after a brief interlude.

Exactly as i expected, every day that passes the so called "heavy snow and blizzards for the south" coming up from France is gradually getting less and less likely. Its now looking like Thursday will be a complete miss and Friday will just be sleet. Such a dissappointnent.

I'm not really buying the current forecasts beyond 2-3 days. IMO the low is being overplayed and I don't think we are going to see any major change until the jet stream kicks in around the 10th though I'm not sure where any "snowmageddon" is going to come from at this point the models are ridiculous even with convection taken into account.

Snowing here, been going for about 10mins and it’s all settled

Edit: still going, reckon it’s about an inch but I’m not going outside to measure!

Perhaps we should use this for weather forecasting. Probably more accurate
