There are lots of ********** on Twitter.
EDIT: Really? The word s-n-o-w-f-l-a-k-e-s is banned?
Despite the obvious impact of climate change, exceptional winters like 1946-47 or '62-63 are still possible. It's not even clear that they are less likely as they are driven by exceptional synoptics.
The La Nina and the more likely dominance of westerly or north westerly winds means this winter might not be as warm as recent winters, wetter conditions are only slightly more likely than average. I think the outlook for snow is better this winter than last.
Since I visited Norway in winter a few years ago I've hated British winters. Why can't we have proper snow rather then just grey overcast sadness![]()
I'm seriously thinking about retiring there though by the time that happens they'll probably be snow free too.
I haven't seen snow for around 4 years now, wonder if we will have a proper winter this year into next? I'm looking for mild forecasts, because that usually means it will be cold

Last winter even Norway was scraping around - one of my YT subscriptions is a train driver there - usually have some ridiculous snow big houses half buried kind of thing - last year was a pale imitation.
Now that was cold! Not to worry we haven't had a "Winter" since 2010![]()
I almost got a job in Norway.
Almost.
I hate winter![]()
Best time of the year. Summer can do one - too hot, uncomfortable, people acting like morons, too much light.
Nothing nicer than a bright crisp frosty morning. There are far too many damp grey dark drizzly ones though
