North East of Scotland getting severely battered at the moment over 120 power outages.

Just a wee bit breezy here in Aberdeen. Had snow this morning; it didn't settle. My UPSs have been doing sterling work protecting me from power surges.

My friend lives outside of Fraserburgh. Her colleague also from Fraserburgh saw two roofs blow off two storey block of flats. She says they are blocks of four 2 bed flats too.

Friend heard this whoosh then a bang in her garden. Looked out and there’s an 8-10ft trampoline blown into garden knocking over the bird bath in the process

Woild trampolines still blow about if not pegged down?

Yep! for sure! Would I heck have anything like that assembled during these times, pose a threat to any house close by.

There's really heavy snow/winds in County Durham, no power cuts yet though.

This is scary, North East been absolutely battered tonight! I'm up and listening to the chaos outside it's causing. There was tiles lifted on the roof for sure and the creaking sound is horrible! When there's a big gust I can feel stuff move!

Fairly sure there's going to be some damage tomorrow around my location.

Just had short 30min power cut. -At least all the torches work.
most of scotland and large parts of the north apparently did.

seems newcastle upon tyne was one of the few places this far up the map that survived.

I noticed my light dim a few times but the pc stayed on fine

I saw this map of the failures on reddit https://i.imgur.com/ag15q7b.jpg

crazy gusts up here, almost constant.

google says 65 mph but it seems way worse. there's bins blowing around the street... even one of the metal container bins has blown over onto it's side and hit someones car lol

IDK why they parked next to it in this wind

Had lights flickering quite a bit where I work in Somerset though nothing at home so far - decided to come home early though as I don't fancy driving home in the worst of it if the forecast is anything to go by. It is pretty blustery but nothing crazy here yet.

Snow's reached Macclesfield in rather daunting blizzardy fashion. Got up to use the loo and thought it looked remarkably light outside! Not much point in putting bird food or now because it'll get buried. But it's definitely going to be necessary later. Miserable conditions for wildlife, with snow blowing sideways into trees and bushes.

Farmers are in for a bad weekends too, I fear.

It is strangely quiet here despite the almost constant wind and all the trees moving - I guess it is the angle and that it never really dies down so reduces the noise.

You should hear County Durham and the northeast coast.

I’m generally scared right now. Never been this bad ever that I know of. It’s lifting tiles off roofs and smashing them back down and sliding.

if you have a look on twitter you will see some of the damage that’s been caused.

I had to get up twice to go make a cuppa tea it was that bad. I thought the roof was going to come off.

It’s nearly 4AM and it hasn’t settled yet since 12 clock!

Just had a massive noisy gust come through but in the main it is surprisingly quiet still despite the trees moving as much as they are.

EDIT: Literally as I posted had another gust 10x bigger and shaking everything.

Snowing really thick snow like crazy here in Leeds but on forcast says 4c lol and windy and rain... It's even collected on the street, houses and cars. Outside is winter wonderland.

Picture taken of when it started like an hour-ish ago, probably worse now as it's still snowing.

We are getting absolutely hammered by the wind now - surprised there aren't trees down as most are constantly bent over 20+ degrees from normal.

Saw some poor bird get slammed into a chimney by the wind though looks like it is OK.
