Just caught the latest met office update.

Does indeed look like we didn't get the 80+ winds but they skirted round and only the 50-60 band hit here.

Makes sense. That's what it feels like.

Dying down now for sure.

Unusually we’ve ended up getting worse in London. Family in South Wales were saying it’s not been too bad.

122mph recorded on the Isle of Wight, crazy.

Big power fluctuations here Blandford, hopefully dont get an outage:eek: Lights keep dimming, microwave stopped and started again.

That A380 looks like a tank haha
When I first saw pictures of an A380 I thought they were ridiculous. Then, as someone with no interest in civilian "buses" whatsoever, I saw an empty A380 display at Farnborough airshow. It was absolutely breath-taking to see this skyscraper of the skies thrown around like a toy. The power, the acceleration (unloaded), and ridiculous manoeuvrability once up made me see them in a totally new light.

According to the weather forecast we should be getting 70mph winds right about now here in Warrington.

In reality it basically just rained heavily for a bit, and there's a mild breeze outside. Tree tops are only just moving around a bit.

Either the wind is going to go absolutely mental in the next hour, or the forecast was completely wrong.

It seemed to change rapidly due to the close proximity of the isobars. Calm, bit of wind and then gusts kick up.

I thought the same until within the space of 5 minutes our neighbours fencing and tree was wiped out.
