What a landing.
Just caught the latest met office update.
Does indeed look like we didn't get the 80+ winds but they skirted round and only the 50-60 band hit here.
Makes sense. That's what it feels like.
Dying down now for sure.
When I first saw pictures of an A380 I thought they were ridiculous. Then, as someone with no interest in civilian "buses" whatsoever, I saw an empty A380 display at Farnborough airshow. It was absolutely breath-taking to see this skyscraper of the skies thrown around like a toy. The power, the acceleration (unloaded), and ridiculous manoeuvrability once up made me see them in a totally new light. That A380 looks like a tank haha
122mph gust in Isle of Wight!
If confirmed will be a record for England
Do they attempt again or go somewhere else?
According to the weather forecast we should be getting 70mph winds right about now here in Warrington. It basically just rained heavily for a bit, and there's a mild breeze outside. Tree tops are only just moving around a bit.
Either the wind is going to go absolutely mental in the next hour, or the forecast was completely wrong.
That was dicey. They must be having a fit on that plane.
