According to the weather forecast we should be getting 70mph winds right about now here in Warrington. It basically just rained heavily for a bit, and there's a mild breeze outside. Tree tops are only just moving around a bit.

Either the wind is going to go absolutely mental in the next hour, or the forecast was completely wrong.

Windy is showing that you won't see higher speeds until around 2-4pm. The wind speeds aren't that high, but the gusts may be: https://www.windy.com/?53.808,-3.238,9

My BA captain friend is not replying on Whatsapp. Wondering what he's up to :D

(Also makes me realise I do not do a proper job in comparison to others!)

Had no power since 11:30, was flickering for about 30 mins before. On annual leave today as well, thought I'd get some gaming in. 3rd power outage in a week.

Unusually we’ve ended up getting worse in London. Family in South Wales were saying it’s not been too bad.

122mph recorded on the Isle of Wight, crazy.

Definitely it just skirted round Cardiff and East of it.
Really it's amazing they can predict weather as well as they can.

Sitrep so far:

My rear trellis has come down (often does in the wind - should be fixable). Hoping the fence stays up.

Part of my front fence started to go so I've strapped it up to a nearby concrete post. Yay for rokstraps!

More seriously, a part of a nearby friends roof just blew off and landed on his car. Ouch.

My brother works at a powerstation and the automatic safety shutdown just kicked in due to high winds. It's now off the grid.

Surprised I still have power, everywhere around me seems to be out.

The trees in my garden have been practically horizontal the last 30-40 minutes.

Found a nice sheltered spot from the wind

ETA of 23:00 for power restoration, if I'm lucky. Going to have to get in the car later for phone charging... Luckily no major local damage but the trees are near 45 degrees.

Man, I've got two lots of fencing, cheap windcheater panels on the shorter fence (8 panels) and a massive run of featherboard, all destroyed. Gonna be very expensive to fix and funds are very tight.

Really ****** off.
