Have you ever thought of moving to Scotland?
I would absolutely move to Scotland if I liked the cold.
Beautiful country. Loads of space. Right to roam.
Could kayak for days out on the western Isles
Actually I would love to. Wife would never agree to it though unfortunately. Maybe one day.
I have a feeling I may have asked this before!
Yeah I wish I liked the climate up there. Mountain biking and kayaking heaven basically!

I would live in perpetual English Spring and Autumn if I could. Amazing weather at times. Less than 20 degrees most of the time, beautifully sunny and the world is so perfectly green in Spring.
I find November-ish is the worst month of the year.
It's wet, cold and gloomy. Winters used to be cold and crisp. That's fine. I don't mind that. Now it's just miserable.
Not a fan of Christmas anymore either (family issues) so that doesn't help!
Apart from beast from the east its rare to get significant snow/ice now.
I remember as a kid ice skating on the pond!

Yep, although now she's going through the menopause she's a lot hotter lol. For now I settle for as many trips up there as possible, and standing in front of estate agent windows saying 'look how cheap that one is!'
Sorry to laugh, but I loved the phrasing of "these wives"! It's like they're all in it together.
For mine it's because all her friends are here. Though I know that some people still move away in spite of things like that.

Before I moved to Wales I lived in lincs. I went to Hunstanton to the beach. And it was ****. I was so annoyed I made the decision I wanted to move. Wasn't sure where.
Had a fair few chats with the gf. Conversations around leaving friends were the only hold back. Where to go.
In the end she came over too and the friendship group has fractured anyway.
It was difficult for her leaving friends. But I was just not happy over there. Never felt like home.
But yes. The gf wasn't as happy as me to go. I'd say 'hesitant'. But for me I felt I had to do it.

I love the cold, it’s easy to warm up when needed. Its nigh impossible to cool down though.

It's not. Cold shower or cold bath will cool you down. Won't last long though once you are out about 10 mins and you will feel the heat again.
Maybe for the summer we need plundge pools outside the house..... to go with hotubs

No. Someone made a thread ages ago in the phones section 2 years in advance for the next iPhone rumours.
I don't deserve a ban for preparation for something only 3 n half months away just about. We need to talk about the winter to keep cold in these super hot few days.
