Frost outside again this morning, house dropped to 18.5C. Supposed to warm up a bit now though for a while at least.

Breathing in wood smoke in densely populated urban areas is really unpleasant. It isn’t exactly because they’ve no central heating that they do it.
and yet you say nothing about diesel lorrys or cars ?? or the diesel genny powering amazon electric vans .. strange :P

No frost here 8.5 c outside, not looking forward to ice/ snow as it's the first time I've had a car with wide tyres and my hill is a death drop (private road we have to buy our own grit) my last car did ok with the skinny tyres, yeah I know should have got a 4x4

Lovely cold morning dog walks for the past 2 days.

Properly dry wood is fine, it doesn't really smoke after the first 5 minutes of lighting. The issue is people burning all sorts of crap, treated timbers, old pallets, wet wood etc.

3oC this morning.... No frost yet and heating still off but I dont know if that will continue much longer.

chilly this morning.... 1st frost of this "winter" for us. clear skies and sunshine tho so i love days like this. (as a kid i dreamed of days like this as it was only then my asthma was actually under control, which may be why i do not mind the cold).

wearing trousers for the 1st time since end of march/early april tho and am wearing a jumper as my home office only has electic heating (and am too tight to put that on ;) )

the lad is still in shorts however, and is insisting he wants to keep the summer school uniform on until it is no longer allowed (November)

One of the best times of the year. When you get cold, crisp days with lovely sunshine its magical. Trees haven't all dropped their leaves yet. Took the boys out for a walk yesterday morning and it was 6 degrees and beautiful sunshine. Then went out for a few hours on the bike in the same weather. Can't beat it. My nose was a runny mess though.

This house is also now down to 13C. I may have to put a jumper on**. This time last week was t-shirt weather. Where's my gentle seasonal transition to help with acclimatisation?

**Under the two fleeces and the hooded jacket.

Anyway you big girls blouses, I'm off camping later for a couple of days, enjoy your central heating.

Camping is fun. But you're prepared for it. Sitting at an office not moving isn't fun! :p

Similarly skiing is amazing and barely cold as you're moving and stuffing your face.

There’s nothing quite as invigorating as a bit of cold weather camping. The sense of achievement when camp is set up and a fire lit etc is awesome. Really wish we got proper ‘snow’ winters over here in NI as I’d love to try a bit of camping in it.
