Winter 2023/24 - It's FREEZING!

I am looking to see how I compare with last Winter (Dec 1st to Feb 28th)

Elec - 243kWh used
Gas - 831kWh used

At current prices (fixed rate) this would equate to:

Elec - £135.21 (plus £50.63 SC)
Gas - £61 (plus £21 SC)

Total - £196.21 for, what should be, the coldest 3 months (unless I use more)
I'm not far off that a month currently, and I'm on a cheap deal. The joys of having someone with health issues in the family.

I Will be having a think for next winter..

Tracker tariff, insulation maybe.. Last resort 21 to 20c!
Thats sounds horrifying though.

We've been very lucky with the long deals, andI've never really had to think about the costs before, but it's going to get painful when the temp drops in future.
2023/24 and people are walking about in blankets inside their houses too scared to put the heating on.

pretty sure it used to be colder this time of year, seems mild from past memory will see what the months ahead brings, my room with no heating holding around 20-22c help from heat downstairs raising and neighbour probably having the heating on keeping the wall warm

I think it's all the warm humid air from the Atlantic that's brought endless rain keeping temps up. Now it's switched to clear skies and northly winds we'll see temps drop dramatically.
A high of 5c here in Hampshire tomorrow with probably a decent morning frost.

Yeah. Those bills are tiny on average!
Maybe he's of the penguin folk!

18oC here coupled with:

Bought them last year for £5 each and they are great. Home used to run at 20oC but no need now.

Did I suggest those? I suggested them to someone! :D
I had them for kayaking on Norway.

Probably... They were mentioned by a few people getting them so I jumped on it.

I wear them under joggers and light hoodie at home and they do well. Laying on couch now with the home at 18oC and feel fine even with outside temp showing 1oC now.

Got home this afternoon at 3-ish, and the sun in the front room had warmed it up to 23.6 C, and the heating was off..... scorchio.

Sun only reaches the kitchen here, bedroom n living room in the cold side of the shadow... Plus countryside brrrr
