There is a 'greater than normal' risk of snow in January, the Met Office has warned, though forecasters say it is too soon to tell if a so-called 'sudden stratospheric warming' will plunge the UK into a lengthy period of cold like in 2018 when it caused the Beast from the East.

There is absolutely no agreement in the models right now, which actually isn't unusual heading into a period of weather influenced by events like that.

While I most certainly could not stand that sort of cold on a daily basis, I always run hot, so would love a weekend away to experience that and cool myself down for a day's

After around -5 you stop noticing it getting any colder, it all just feels cold
